Cover Drive
Cover Drive were a four-piece Barbadian band consisting of Amanda Reifer, T-Ray Armstrong, Barry "Bar-Man" Hill and Jamar Harding. They have gained commercial success in the United Kingdom. They are best known for their 2012 single "Twilight", which peaked atop the UK singles chart. The band was signed by record label Global Talent, a division of Polydor Records. The band obtained one of its major breaks by performing as an opening act during Rihanna's Loud Tour. The band were featured in upcoming promotions by the Barbados Tourism Authority, an international tourist-marketing agency of the Barbados government. The group released their debut album '' Bajan Style'' on 7 May 2012 in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 14. "Lovesick Riddim" was announced as their lead single from their EP, ''Liming in Limbo'' on 13 December 2013. The group's second and final album ''Fall Forward'' was released on 10 April 2017. Barbados, officially the Republic of Barbados, is an island country in the Atlantic Ocean. It is part of the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies and the easternmost island of the Caribbean region. "Twilight" is a song by Barbados-based pop group Cover Drive. The song was written by the band with Swedish production team Quiz & Larossi and Ina Wroldsen. The song was released on 22 January 2012 as a digital download and CD single in the United Kingdom, taken from their debut album, '' Bajan Style''. "Twilight" topped the UK Singles Chart and received a gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in October 2020. The Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) is a non-profit association set up in 1999 to promote certain interests of the music industry in Ireland. The band enlisted a variety of producers such as Future Cut, Quiz & Larossi, J.R. Rotem, Aliby, Orange Factory and Steve Mac to work on the record. The album is rooted in R&B, pop, reggae fusion, hip-hop and synth-pop genres. The ''Advocate'' ("Barbados Advocate") is the second most read daily newspaper in the country of Barbados. First established in 1895, the Advocate is also the longest continually-published newspaper in the country. History The Barbados Advocate was founded in 1895 by Valence Gale, who had gotten his start at the Barbados Agricultural Reporter. Gale died in 1908, leaving controlling interest in the paper to his wife, Clara Gale (née Chenery). Gale's son, Valence C.
