Clásico Universitario
The Clásico Universitario is one of the most important rivalries of Chilean football and refers to any match contested between Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile. This ''clásico'' (derby) has been recognized by FIFA as the most traditional of Chile. It is the oldest confrontation between two clubs from academic roots, as the first confrontation goes back to the University Classic of 1909. These two teams have played twenty championship definitions against each other (finals, semi-finals, qualifying in general), Universidad Católica has won thirteen and Universidad de Chile six. Club Universidad de Chile () is a professional football club based in Santiago, Chile, that plays in the Primera División. Founded on 24 May 1927, Universidad de Chile is one of the most successful and popular football clubs in Chile, having won the league title 18 times. 2022 Copa Chile
The 2022 Copa Chile (officially known as Copa Chile Easy 2022 due to its sponsorship), was the 42nd edition of the Copa Chile, the country's national football cup tournament. The tournament began on 19 March 2022 and ended on 13 November 2022, with the final match on neutral ground. Magallanes won their first Copa Chile title, defeating Unión Española 7–6 on penalty kicks after a 2–2 draw in the final. The 1954 Campeonato Nacional de Fútbol Profesional was first tier's 22nd season which Universidad Católica reached its second professional title. The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; (Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División. The Supercopa de Chile (''Supercup of Chile'') is an annual one-match football official competition in Chile organised by the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP). This competition serves as the season opener and is played between the Campeonato Nacional Champions and the winners of the Copa Chile of the previous season. Host city The stadium that hosted the match and the date are defined when the two teams are qualified, for reason of distance between the two clubs.
