Chris Vermeulen
Christopher Vermeulen (born 19 June 1982) is a retired Australian motorcycle racer. He competed in the Supersport World Championship and the Superbike World Championship before racing in the premier Grand Prix motorcycle racing#MotoGP class, MotoGP class between and , most prominently as a member of the Suzuki MotoGP team, winning the 2007 French motorcycle Grand Prix, 2007 French Grand Prix. Vermeulen won the World Supersport Championship for the Ten Kate Honda team in 2003. He then raced in the Superbike class in 2004 and 2005 for the Ten Kate Honda team, finishing as series runner-up in 2005. From 2006 he joined the elite MotoGP series, for the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP Team. During his career, Vermeulen was regarded as a wet-weather expert and is affectionately nicknamed 'Vermin' on account of his last name. Barry Steven Frank Sheene (11 September 1950 – 10 March 2003) was a British professional motorcycle racer and television sports presenter. John Hopkins (motorcycle Racer)
John "Hopper" Hopkins (born May 22, 1983) is a former motorcycle road racer based in the United States. During 2017 he raced in the British Superbike Championship aboard a Ducati 1199 Panigale for Moto Rapido Racing, but suffered injuries from a crash at the season-finale race meeting in October, meaning he could not participate during 2018. He has not made a full recovery, which has so far precluded hopes of a comeback, but he has become involved in rider coaching. Suzuka 8 Hours
The is a motorcycle endurance race held at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan each year. The race runs for eight hours consecutively, and entrants are composed of two or more riders who alternate during pitstops. History The race began in 1978 as a race for prototype Tourist Trophy Formula One (TT-F1) motorcycles which meant the big four Japanese companies (Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha), who had unlimited engineering resources, could use them on the track. Throughout the years, the race had gone through several rule changes in accordance to the FIM, including the restriction to 750cc for F1 bikes. One major change for the race came in 1993. Due to the high popularity of Superbike racing, which had been a support class in previous 8 Hours races, the race now centered on superbikes.
