Charlie Quintana
Gonzalo Quintana III (January 29, 1962 – March 12, 2018), also known as Charlie Quintana or Chalo, was an American rock and punk drummer. He is best known as a founding member of the band The Plugz and as the drummer for the punk rock band Social Distortion from 2000 to 2009. Career Quintana was born in El Paso, Texas. He was a member of 1970s punk band The Plugz (which became a popular roots band in the 1980s), Cruzados, The Havalinas, Izzy Stradlin & the Ju Ju Hounds, and toured and/or recorded with Joan Osborne, John Doe, Cracker, Bob Dylan, Mark Curry, Jimmy and the Mustangs, 47C and many others. He was briefly a member of Agent Orange, appearing on their 1996 album ''Virtually Indestructible''. Agent Orange (band)
Agent Orange is an American punk rock band formed in Placentia, California, in 1979. The band was one of the first to mix punk rock with surf music. A power trio, the band was founded by frontman and guitarist Mike Palm who has remained the band's sole constant member. The lineup of Palm, James Levesque (bass) and Scott Miller (drums) recorded Agent Orange's first two albums, '' Living in Darkness'' (1981) and '' This is the Voice'' (1986). The band's third album, ''Virtually Indestructible'' (1996) was released with Sam Bolle on bass and Charlie Quintana on drums. The band has not released any new albums since. As of 2019, the band consists of Palm, Perry Giordano (bass) and Sandy Hansen (drums). ''Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes'' is the seventh studio album by American punk rock band Social Distortion, released on January 18, 2011. It is the band's first album recorded with bassist Brent Harding, their first album of new material since 2004's ''Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'', and their first release on Epitaph Records. Work on the album began in 2006 and it was originally forecast for a 2007 release, but was pushed back several times while the band continued touring and writing new material. After four years of writing, Social Distortion recorded the album from February to July 2010 at Ocean Studios in Burbank, California. Josh Freese
Joshua Ryan Freese (born December 25, 1972) is an American drummer. A member of punk rock band the Vandals since 1989, Freese has also been a member of new wave band Devo since 1996. He was previously a member of hard rock band Guns N' Roses from 1997 to 1999, of rock band Foo Fighters from 2023 to 2025 and a member of alternative rock band A Perfect Circle from 1999 to 2012, the latter of which he rejoined in 2024. A prolific session and touring drummer, Freese has appeared on over 400 albums since 1986 and performed live with artists including Nine Inch Nails, Weezer, Sublime with Rome, Sting, 311, 100 gecs, the Offspring and Danny Elfman. ''Greatest Hits'' is a compilation album by Social Distortion. It was released on June 25, 2007. It includes hit singles from '' Mommy's Little Monster'' to '' Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'' - as well as the unreleased track " Far Behind", which also became a hit single – yet lacks anything from '' Mainliner'', which is actually a compilation of unreleased early material. "Far Behind" is also the band's first new song recorded with then-current line-up of Mike Ness (vocals, guitars), Jonny "2 Bags" Wickersham (guitar), Brent Harding (bass guitar) and Charlie Quintana (drums). The limited edition vinyl for this album contains an interview with Mike Ness. ''Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'' is the sixth studio album by American punk rock band Social Distortion. It's their first album in eight years, since the release of '' White Light, White Heat, White Trash'' in 1996. It was originally scheduled for release in the fall of 2000, but wasn't completed, not being released until September 28, 2004. This album is Social Distortion's first to feature guitarist Jonny Wickersham, following the death of Dennis Danell in February 2000. The opening track, "Reach for the Sky", was released as a single in late 2004, becoming one of the band's biggest hits. Dennis Danell
Dennis Eric Danell (June 24, 1961 – February 29, 2000) was an American guitarist who was a founding member of the Southern California punk rock band Social Distortion. Biography Danell joined Social Distortion in 1979 while he and frontman Mike Ness attended Troy High School (Fullerton, CA) together. Mike recruited him to play guitar despite not yet knowing how to play an instrument. Due to this, the other members, Casey Royer and Rikk Agnew left as they did not want to wait for him to learn. When Social Distortion recorded its first single in 1981, ''Mainline/Playpen'', Danell was the bassist, choosing this because it was "easier to play. I only had to hit single notes rather than forming chords". Shortly after the brief bass stint, Danell switched to guitar after Ness taught him how to play. Danzig (band)
Danzig is an American heavy metal band led by former Misfits and Samhain frontman Glenn Danzig. Formed in 1987 in Lodi, New Jersey out of the latter band, its "classic" lineup included the eponymous vocalist and keyboardist (real name Glenn Anzalone), guitarist John Christ (real name John Knoll), bassist Eerie Von (real name Eric Stellmann) and drummer Chuck Biscuits (real name Charles Montgomery).
