Manuela Jimena Castañeira (born 22 November 1984) is an Argentine sociologist, feminist activist and politician. She is the leader of the Trotskyism, Trotskyist Movimiento al Socialismo (Argentina), Movimiento al Socialismo () and was the party's presidential candidate in the 2015 Argentine general election, 2015, 2019 Argentine general election, 2019, and 2023 Argentine general election, 2023 general elections. In all occasions, she did not receive enough votes in the Primary elections in Argentina, PASO primaries to make it past the threshold to participate in the general election. Early life and education Manuela Jimena Castañeira was born on 22 November 1984 in Paraná, Entre Ríos. Hilda Nélida Castañeira
Hilda Nélida Castañeira de Baccaro (19 November 1926 – 4 November 2007) was an Argentine politician. She was elected to the Senate in 1951 as one of the first group of female parliamentarians in Argentina. Biography Castañeira was born in Rosario in 1926.Hilda Nélida Castañeira HCDN She studied at the Nuestra Señora del Huerto college in Rosario and became a primary school teacher in Ibarlucea. She later taught in Rosario and at the National Boys College. Castañeira is a village in the municipality of Balboa in El Bierzo, province of province of León, Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, Spain.
