CNR Yenişehir Exhibition Center
The CNR Yenişehir Exhibition Center (), formerly Mersin Yenişehir Exhibition Center (), is an exhibition area in Mersin, Turkey. Geography At the exhibition area is situated at the extreme west of Yenişehir second level municipality. It is to the north of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard. History The fairground was constructed by Yenişehir Municipality, and opened on October 18, 2007. It was operated by Forza Exhibition Co. until 51% of the company's stock was purchased by CNR Expo Co. on March 1, 2012, which is the current operator. Although CNR runs an exhibition center in İstanbul Mersin is the first exhibition center of CNR in Anatolia. In the press conference held after the handover, Ceyda Erem the chairperson of the executive board said that the exhibition center will not only attract companies from the Mideast and Mediterranean but they also plan to bring European companies to Mersin. Yenişehir, Mersin
Yenişehir () is a municipality and district of Mersin Province, Turkey. Its area is 139 km2, and its population is 278,961 (2022). It covers the west-central part of the city of Mersin and the adjacent countryside. History Originally a part of Mersin municipality, the municipality of Yenişehir was established in 1993 as a secondary level municipality of Mersin. In 2008 the district Yenişehir was created from part of the former central district of Mersin, along with the districts Mezitli, Toroslar and Akdeniz. At the same time, the former municipality Çiftlikköy was absorbed into the municipality of Yenişehir. 2013 Mediterranean Games
The 2013 Mediterranean Games (), officially known as the XVII Mediterranean Games () and commonly known as Mersin 2013, was an international multi-sport event held from 20 to 30 June 2013 in Mersin, Turkey. Mersin was announced as the host city at the General Assembly of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM) on 23 February 2011. Mersin is the second city in Turkey after İzmir to host the Mediterranean Games. All 24 member National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the ICMG participated in the Games. The official programme for the Games is featuring events in 27 different sports.
