Bafing Region
Bafing Region is one of the 31 regions of Ivory Coast and is part of Woroba District. The region's seat is Touba. The region's area is 8,660 km², and its population in the 2021 census was 262,850. Departments and geography Bafing Region is currently divided into three departments: Koro, Ouaninou, and Touba. The region is traversed by a northwesterly line of equal latitude and longitude. History Bafing Region was created in 2000 as a first-level administration region of the country. It was formed by splitting-off Touba Department from Worodougou Region. Koro Department was created as a split-off from Touba Department in 2008. There are 31 regions, and each region is subdivided into two or more departments, the third-level division in Ivory Coast. Woroba District
Woroba District (french: District du Woroba) is one of 14 administrative districts of Ivory Coast. It is in the northeast part of the country. Its capital is Séguéla. Worodougou Region
Worodougou Region is one of the 31 regions of Ivory Coast and is currently one of three regions of Woroba District. The region's seat is Séguéla. The region's population in the 2021 census was 429,812. Departments Worodougou is currently divided into two departments: Kani and Séguéla. History Worodougou Region was established in 1997 as a first-level administrative subdivision. At its establishment, it included all of the territory that is today Woroba District. In 2000, Bafing Region was created by dividing Worodougou. Touba Department is a department of Bafing Region in Woroba District, Ivory Coast. In 2021, its population was 120,524 and its seat is the settlement of Touba. The sub-prefectures of the department are Dioman, Foungbesso, Guintéguéla, and Touba. History Touba Department was created in 1969 as one of the 24 new departments that were created to take the place of the six departments that were being abolished. It was created from territory that was formerly part of Nord Department. Using current boundaries as a reference, from 1969 to 2008 the department occupied the territory that is Bafing Region.
