Antoine Henri De Bérault-Bercastel
Antoine Henri de Bérault-Bercastel (1720–1794) was a French priest and Catholic historian. Biographical details Born 22 November 1720, at Briey, Lorraine in France. At an early age he entered the Society of Jesus, but left it after his ordination to the priesthood. He was made parish priest of Omerville and later a canon of Noyon. He died about 1794 at Noyon. Histoire de l'église His most important work is entitled ''"Histoire de l'église"'' (in English: "''History of the Church''") and was issued at Paris, 1778–90, in twenty-four volumes. The history gives a circumstantial account of the Catholic Church from the time of its founding up to the year 1721. It is not so much intended for students and learned investigators as for educated Christians, and especially for those priests whose professional cares do not allow them time to carry on higher studies. Bernard Stewart, 4th Lord Of Aubigny
Bernard Stewart, 3rd Seigneur d'Aubigny ( French: Bérault Stuart) (c. 1452 – 15 June 1508) was a French soldier, commander of the '' Garde Écossaise'', and diplomat belonging to the Scottish family of Stewart of Darnley. Early life Bernard was the grandson of Sir John Stewart of Darnley, who was given the lands of Aubigny-sur-Nere and Concressault by Charles VII of France for his service during the Hundred Years' War. Like his father and grandfather he was high in favour with the French King and was chosen as commander of the royal bodyguard. Because of his family background he was chosen as the envoy to James III of Scotland to announce the accession of King Charles VIII of France. He was also given the task of signing a treaty with the Scots renewing the Auld Alliance, which he proceeded to sign on 22 March 1484.
