Busy Bee Starski
David James Parker (born October 26, 1962), known by the stage name Busy Bee, is an American old-school hip hop musician from New York, NY. First coming on the New York City music scene in 1977, Busy Bee worked with many of hip-hop's founding fathers, including Melle Mel, Disco King Mario, Afrika Bambaataa, and Kool DJ AJ. Career After being inspired by Kidd Creole, Melle Mel, and Keef Cowboy Busy Bee decided he wanted to be a rapper. He initially hooked up with Disco King Mario of the Black Spades from the Bronxdale Houses. According to Busy Bee Disco king Mario had the sound system and told Busy Bee he would make him a star. Known for his comedic rhymes, Busy Bee originally gained a large following through MC rap battles in Staten Island, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. He was famously roasted by Kool Moe Dee at Harlem World in Manhattan, NY, December 1981, in one of the earliest documented rap battles. Keef Cowboy
Robert Keith Wiggins (September 20, 1960 – September 8, 1989), known by his stage names Keef Cowboy and Cowboy was an American rapper and a member of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. He is widely credited as having invented the term "hip hop". Life and career Wiggins was first recruited to MC for his friend Grandmaster Flash (then DJ Flash) by 1977. He was a dancer and hype man for the band, and was a pioneer in the use of the call and response style to communicate with the audience. ''Hip Hop Lives'' is the collaborative studio album by American rapper KRS-One and record producer Marley Marl. It was released on May 22, 2007 via Koch Records. Recording sessions took place at House Of Hits in New York and at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles. Production was handled by Marley Marl himself, except for one track produced with 88 Fingers. It features guest appearances from Blaq Poet, Busy Bee Starski and Magic Juan. The album's title is a response to Nas's 2006 album '' Hip Hop Is Dead''. Marlon Lu'Ree Williams (born September 30, 1962), better known by his stage name Marley Marl, is an American DJ, record producer, rapper and record label founder, primarily operating in hip hop music. Marlon grew up in Queensbridge Houses, Queensbridge housing projects located in Queens, New York. He performed in local talent shows during the early days of rap music, further fueling his interest. He was also featured on Eric B. & Rakim's "Paid in Full (Eric B. & Rakim song), Paid in Full" from their Paid in Full (album), debut album, which was also recorded in his studio.
