Buchloe–Memmingen Railway
The Buchloe–Memmingen railway is an approximately 45 kilometre long single-track, electrified mainline in the German state of Bavaria. It connects Buchloe station, Buchloe and Memmingen station, Memmingen and is part of the railway axis from Augsburg Central Station, Augsburg to Lindau Central Station, Lindau. History The line from Buchloe to Memmingen was opened on 1 May 1874 as a part of the Munich–Memmingen railway in the kingdom of Bavaria. In November 2017, the Stetten, Bavaria, Stetten and Sontheim, Bavaria, Sontheim stations and the Ungerhausen yard were connected to the Memmingen computer-based interlocking. The stations at Türkheim, Stetten and Sontheim were rebuilt barrier-free with work finishing in autumn 2018. In the first half of 2018, the historic, almost 145-year-old masonry arch bridge over the Auerbach and state road 2013 near Stetten was demolished and replaced with a reinforced concrete bridge. The Günzburg–Mindelheim railway (also known in German as the ''Mittelschwabenbahn''—Central Swabian Railway) is a single-tracked branch line in Bavaria which is approximately 55 kilometres long. Leutkirch–Memmingen Railway
The Leutkirch–Memmingen railway is a 31.540 km long, single-track railway in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, which connects Leutkirch station, Leutkirch and Memmingen station, Memmingen. It has been electrified as part of the Munich–Lindau line since 2020. History Two years after the completion of the construction of the Neu-Ulm–Kempten railway in 1863, the citizens of Wangen im Allgäu, Wangen campaigned for a cross-border line connecting the Buchloe–Lindau railway with the new line in Memmingen. Since this proposal lacked political support, the plans came to nothing and meanwhile the Herbertingen–Isny railway was opened through the Württemberg Allgäu in various stages until 1880. Neu-Ulm–Kempten Railway
The Neu-Ulm–Kempten railway is a mostly single track and non-electrified main line from Neu-Ulm station, Neu-Ulm via Memmingen station, Memmingen to Kempten Central Station, Kempten in the German state of Bavaria.
