Bruno Spengler
Bruno Spengler (born August 23, 1983) is an Alsatian-born Canadian racing driver. A long-term Mercedes-AMG and BMW factory driver, he currently works for Bugatti. He is the 2012 DTM champion. Career Early career Spengler was born near Strasbourg, France but moved with his parents to Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, Canada, when he was 3. He went to school in Canada but continued to go back to France where he started competing in kart racing in 1995. Spengler continued karting in both France and Canada and then moved on to competing in the French Formula Renault. Eventually this led to him being signed by Mercedes-Benz motorsport and in 2003 he was racing for ASM in the Formula Three Euroseries. DTM From 2005 until the end of 2011, Spengler drove a Mercedes in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in Germany. Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters
The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, commonly abbreviated as the DTM, is a sports car racing series sanctioned by ADAC. The series is based in Germany, with rounds elsewhere in Europe. The series currently races a modified version of Group GT3 grand touring cars, replacing Class 1 Touring Cars in 2021. From 2000 to 2020, the "new DTM" continued the former Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (German Touring Car Championship) and ITC (International Touring Car Championship) which had been discontinued after 1996 due to high costs. 2002 Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup Season
The 2002 Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup season was the twelfth Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season. The season began at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours on 20 April and finished at the Circuito do Estoril on 19 October, after nine races. Series veteran Éric Salignon scored four victories at Magny-Cours, Silverstone, Oschersleben and Imola during the season, he took the championship at the wheel of his Graff Racing-run car, giving team their first Eurocup championship. Swiss driver Neel Jani who competed with Jenzer Motorsport was the only Salignon's rival championship title was not resolved until the final round, and Jani finished in series' standings just four points behind French driver, winning races at Anderstorp, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Circuito do Estoril. The Formula 3 Euro Series was a European-based junior single seater formula for Formula Three chassis that was launched (in its current form) in 2003 as a merger of the French Formula Three Championship and German Formula Three Championship. ART Grand Prix is a French motor racing team that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. In 2012, it competed in the GP2 Series and GP3 Series as Lotus GP to reflect sponsorship from British sports and racing car manufacturer Lotus. The team competed as Lotus ART in 2011. Kart racing or karting is a motorsport discipline using open-wheel, four-wheeled vehicles known as go-karts or shifter karts. They are usually raced on scaled-down circuits, although some professional kart races are also held on full-size motorsport circuits. 2012 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters
The 2012 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters was the twenty-sixth season of premier German touring car championship and also thirteenth season under the moniker of Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) since the series' resumption in 2000. New regulations applied for the 2012 season ( see below). BMW returned to the championship for the first time since 1994. It was also the last time non-European driver to won the DTM title until South African Sheldon van der Linde in 2022 season.
