Brno-Líšeň
Brno-Líšeň is a city district of Brno, Czech Republic, in the northeastern part of the city. It consists of the cadastral territory of Líšeň (), originally a town that was annexed to Brno in 1944. The cadastral territory has an area of 15.71 km2. The city district was established on November 24, 1990. Over 26,000 people live here. The district can be divided into "Old Líšeň" (original development of a village or small-town character) and "New Líšeň" (a panel housing estate built in the 1980s on the slopes west of the older development). The heart of the old Líšeň is the Charles IV square, locally called "Městečko" (lit: 'little town'). The district office is located in a service complex on a housing estate near the Jírova transport hub. For the purposes of the senate elections, Brno-Líšeň is included in electoral district number 58 of the Brno-City District. Brno-Vinohrady ( Hantec: Vincky) is a city district on the eastern side of Brno in the Czech Republic. The city district was established on 24 November 1990. The population is 12,172 as of 2021. Characteristic The vast majority of Vinohrady is made up of about 50 coloured paneláks, which are visible from many parts of Brno. Brno-Černovice () is a city district of Brno, Czech Republic, located in the southeastern part of the city. It is coextensive with the municipal part and cadastral territory of Černovice, which used to be an independent municipality until it was annexed into Brno in 1919. Its area is 6.29 km2. Zetor (since January 1, 2007, officially Zetor Tractors a.s.) is a Czech agricultural machinery manufacturer. It was founded in 1946. The company is based in Brno, Czech Republic. 2011 Czech Census
The 2011 Census of the Czech Republic was conducted by the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) in 2011 in accordance with Regulation no. 763/2008 of the European Parliament and Council which states that censuses must be carried out in all Member States once every ten years starting in 2011 with more frequent censuses decided by the European Commission. The Parliament of Czech Republic passed Act no. 296/2009, requiring that a Census be conducted in early 2011. The act obligating participation and precise completion of the census would only be applicable to the 2011 Census, not other censuses that would be mandated in the future. Those who refused to partake in the census or provided false information to the Census would be fined 10,000 CZK. The 2021 Census of the Czech Republic took place between 27 March and 9 April 2021. It was conducted by the Czech Statistical Office at a cost estimated to be 2.23 billion Czech koruna. Failure to complete the census could lead to a fine of 10,000 Czech koruna. Preliminary results Preliminary results were released in January 2022. The national population was 10.52 million, which represented an increase of approximately 90,000 from the previous census in 2011. At the same time, the average age was reported at 42.7 years, an increase of 1.7 years in the last ten years. Miroslav Žbirka
Miroslav "Miro" Žbirka (21 October 1952 – 10 November 2021) was a Slovak pop and rock singer and songwriter, widely popular in 1980s Czechoslovakia. Born in Bratislava to a Slovak father and an English mother, he sang in Slovak, English, and Czech. He sometimes recorded in London, but lived in Slovakia and since early 1990s in Prague, Czech Republic, where he died. In the late 1970s, Žbirka co-founded two Czechoslovak pop music bands, Modus and Limit. In 1982, he rose to fame by winning the annual Zlatý slavík award for the best male singer in Czechoslovakia. After the 1992 division of Czechoslovakia, he repeated this achievement in the Slovak annual Slávik Awards, coming number one in the annual end of year charts in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Gustáv Husák ( , ; ; 10 January 1913 – 18 November 1991) was a Czechoslovak politician who served as the long-time First Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia from 1969 to 1987 and the President of Czechoslovakia from 1975 to 1989.
