Koninklijke Theodorus Niemeyer BV (Royal Theodorus Niemeyer Ltd.) is a Dutch tobacco company. The company is currently part of the multinational British American Tobacco (BAT). History Koninklijke Theodorus Niemeyer BV has been a family-run business for a long period with origins from the trade in products from the Dutch colonies. Snus (, ; ) is a Swedish smokeless tobacco, tobacco product. It is consumed by placing a pouch of powdered tobacco leaves under the lip for nicotine to be absorbed through the Mucous membrane, oral mucosa. Snus, not to be confused with Nicotine pouch, nicotine pouches, consists of ground up tobacco leaves, salt, an alkalizer (e.g. sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate) and (optionally) flavorings. A heated tobacco product (HTP) is a tobacco product that heats tobacco at a lower temperature than conventional cigarettes. The heat generates an aerosol or smoke to be inhaled from the tobacco, which contains nicotine, a highly addictive chemical, and other chemicals. HTPs may also contain additives not found in tobacco, including flavoring chemicals. Rothmans International PLC was a British tobacco manufacturer. Its brands included Rothmans, Player's and Dunhill. Its international headquarters were in Hill Street, London and its international operations were run from Denham Place in Denham Village, Buckinghamshire. The company was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was once a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index, but it was acquired by British American Tobacco in 1999. Pall Mall (, or adopted) is a British brand of cigarettes produced by British American Tobacco. History The Pall Mall brand was introduced in 1899 by the Black Butler Company (UK) in an attempt to cater to the upper class with the first "premium" cigarette. It is named after Pall Mall, a well-known street in the St James's area of London, containing several of the private clubs which such people patronized. In 1907, Pall Mall was acquired by the American Tobacco Company with the sale of Butler & Butler.
