Branko Maksimović
Branko Maksimović ( sr-Cyrl, Бранко Максимовић; born 28 April 28, 1974) is a Serbian basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for Lokomotiv Kuban of the VTB United League. Coaching career Maksimović was an assistant coach for Crvena zvezda, NIS Vojvodina, Radnički Belgrade, Hemofarm and Radnički Kragujevac. He was long-term assistant coach of Miroslav Nikolić (Crvena zvezda, NIS Vojvodina, Hemofarm, Serbia youth teams, Radnički Kragujevac). He also was a coach in youth system for Radnički Belgrade, Hemofarm and Crvena zvezda. In 2014, Maksimović went to Slovakia and become a head coach for Baník Handlová of the Slovak Extraliga. In June 2015, he moved to Inter Bratislava where he stayed until November 2015. After the start of the 2016–17 season in the Adriatic League, Maksimović took over FMP after Slobodan Klipa resign. VTB United League
The VTB United League () is an international professional men's club basketball league that was founded in 2009. It is made up of mostly Russian clubs, along with one each from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Since 2013, it is the first tier of Russian professional club basketball. Therefore, the highest placed Russian team in the league can also be named the Russian national champions. The league is sponsored by Russian state-owned VTB Bank. In 2009 CSKA Moscow won VTB United League Promo-Cup, but this competition does not count as official VTB title. CSKA has dominated the league, having won majority of titles its existence. The 2007 FIBA Under-19 World Championship (Serbian: Светско првенство до 19 година ФИБА до 19 година) was the 8th edition of the FIBA U19 World Championship. Zemun
Zemun ( sr-cyrl, Земун, ; ) is a Subdivisions of Belgrade, municipality in the city of Belgrade, Serbia. Zemun was a separate town that was absorbed into Belgrade in 1934. It lies on the right bank of the Danube river, upstream from downtown Belgrade. The development of New Belgrade in the late 20th century expanded the continuous urban area of Belgrade and merged it with Zemun. The town was conquered by the Kingdom of Hungary in the 12th century and in the 15th century it was given as a personal possession to the Serbian Despotate, Serbian despot Đurađ Branković. After the Serbian Despotate fell to the Ottoman Empire in 1459, Zemun became an important military outpost. Slobodan Klipa
Slobodan Klipa ( sr-cyr, Слободан Клипа; born 1 August 1960) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player who serves as the U-19 head coach for Qingdao. Playing career A point guard, Klipa played 17 seasons in Yugoslavia from 1979 to 1996. During his playing days, he played for KK Igman, Željezničar Sarajevo, Varda Višegrad, Kvarner, FMP Železnik, and Beopetrol. He retired as a player with Beopetrol in 1996. Coaching career After retirement in 1996, Klipa joined a youth system of Beopetrol as the U19 head coach. In February 2000, he became the head coach of Beopetrol of the YUBA League for the rest of the 1999–2000 season. In summer 2000, he was named the U19 head coach for FMP Železnik. 2016–17 ABA League
The 2016–17 ABA League was the 16th season of the ABA League, with 14 teams from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Macedonia participating in it. It started on September 29, 2016, with the first round of the regular season and the regular season ended on March 13, 2017, followed by playoffs of the four best placed teams. The play-offs were played from March 18 till April 13, 2017. Crvena zvezda won its third ABA League championship, after beating Cedevita 3–0 in the Finals.
