Boris Popovič
Boris Popovič (born 5 September 1962) is a Slovene politician and entrepreneur of Montenegrin descent who served as Mayor of Koper, Slovenia's fifth largest city from 2002 to 2018. Prior to his political career, he was an accomplished rally driver and was the national rally champion in Slovenia in 1999. 2017 Slovenian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Slovenia on 22 October 2017. Nine candidates ran in the first round of the elections, in which the incumbent independent President Borut Pahor placed first and Marjan Šarec of the List of Marjan Šarec (LMŠ) placed second. No candidate received a majority of the vote in the first round, resulting in a run-off between Pahor and that was held on 12 November 2017. Pahor won the run-off with 53% of the vote; voter turnout in the second round was 42.13%, the lowest in any presidential election since independence. Koper
Koper (; ) is the List of cities and towns in Slovenia, fifth-largest city in Slovenia. Located in the Slovenian Istria, Istrian region in the southwestern part of the country, Koper is the main urban center of the Slovene coast. Port of Koper is the country's only container port and a major contributor to the economy of the City Municipality of Koper, Municipality of Koper.
