The two-woman bobsleigh competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia was held at the Sliding Center Sanki near Krasnaya Polyana, Russia on 18–19 February. Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse of Canada repeated as Olympic Champions, becoming the first duo to do so. Records While the IOC does not consider bobsled times eligible for Olympic records, the FIBT does maintain records for both the start and a complete run at each track at which it competes. Results Top finish in each run is in boldface. TR – track record. On 24 November 2017, the Russian pair were disqualified after Olga Stulneva was sanctioned for a doping violation. After a CAS decision on 1 February 2018, the sanctions were annulled and their result was reinstated. Kaillie Humphries
Kaillie Humphries ( Simundson; September 4, 1985) is a Canadian-American bobsledder. Representing Canada, she was the 2010 and 2014 Olympic champion in the two-woman bobsled and the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist with brakewoman Phylicia George. With her victory in 2014, she became the first female bobsledder to defend her Olympic title and was named flagbearer for the Olympic closing ceremony with brakewoman Heather Moyse. Humphries was one of the first women to pilot a mixed-gender team in a four-person bobsled competition. She was also the first woman to drive an all-female team against men in a four-person World Cup bobsled race. In 2019, Humphries switched to representing the United States because of alleged abuse and harassment that she claims she faced from the Canadian bobsled federation. FIBT
The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) is the international sports federation for the sliding sports of Bobsleigh and Skeleton. It was founded on 23 November 1923 by the delegates of Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States at the meeting of their first International Congress in Paris, France. In June 2015, it announced a name change from FIBT to IBSF. The federation's headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland. Fabienne Meyer (born 28 November 1981) is a Swiss former bobsledder who has been competing since 2005. She scored her first World Cup win in a two-woman event at Königssee, Germany, in January 2014. Christin Senkel (born 31 August 1987) is a German bobsledder who has competed since 2008. Her best World Cup finish was third in the two-woman event at Königssee in January 2010. Senkel also finished seventh in the team event at the FIBT World Championships 2009 in Lake Placid, New York. Senkel was originally part of Anja Schneiderheinze-Stöckel's team, but after her good performances, she temporarily switched to Claudia Schramm's World Cup team. Cathleen Martini (born 27 May 1982) is a German bobsledder who has competed since 2000. She won four medals in the two-woman event at the FIBT World Championships with two silvers (2007, 2008) and two bronzes (2003, 2009). Hanna Emilie Mariën (born 16 May 1982) is a Belgian retired athlete and bobsledder. As a sprinter, Mariën specialized in the 200 metres and won gold in the relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
