Bligh County, New South Wales
Bligh County was one of the original Nineteen Counties in New South Wales and is now one of the 141 cadastral divisions of New South Wales. The Cudgegong River and the Goulburn River (New South Wales), Goulburn River are its southern boundaries; the Krui River is the eastern boundary, and the Burragundy River the northern boundary. It includes the villages of Cassilis, New South Wales, Cassilis and Dunedoo, New South Wales, Dunedoo. The county was named after William Bligh, Admiral and Governor of New South Wales (1805–1808). The electoral district of Phillip, Brisbane and Bligh was the first electoral district for the area, between 1856 and 1859. William Bligh
William Bligh (9 September 1754 – 7 December 1817) was a Vice-admiral (Royal Navy), Royal Navy vice-admiral and colonial administrator who served as the governor of New South Wales from 1806 to 1808. He is best known for his role in the Mutiny on the Bounty, mutiny on HMS ''Bounty'', which occurred in 1789 when the ship was under his command. The reasons behind the mutiny continue to be debated. After being set adrift in ''Bounty''s Launch (boat), launch by the mutineers, Bligh and those loyal to him stopped for supplies on Tofua, losing one man to native attacks. Bligh and his men reached Timor alive, after a journey of . Bulga, New South Wales
Bulga is a locality in the Singleton Council region of New South Wales, Australia. It had a population of 354 as of the . The name is derived from an Aboriginal word for "mountain" or "isolated hill or mountain". Bulga Public School operated from 1868 until December 1970. Bulga Post Office opened as The Bulga on 1 August 1878, was renamed Bulga on 1 January 1894 and closed on 2 July 1993. The village today contains the Regional Fire Service regional headquarters, National Parks and Wildlife Service offices, an Anglican church, a police station, scout hall in the former school building, recreation ground, service station and community hall. The community hall, originally a School of Arts, celebrated its 125th anniversary in October 2018. The Anglican church, St Mark's, holds a monthly service on the third Sunday of the month. Mid-Western Regional Council
The Mid-Western Regional Council is a Local government in Australia, local government area in the Central West, New South Wales, Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. The area is located adjacent to the Castlereagh Highway that passes through the middle of the area in an approximate southeast–northwest direction. Mid-Western Regional Council was proclaimed on 26 May 2004 and incorporates the whole of the former Mudgee Shire Council and parts of the former Merriwa, New South Wales, Merriwa and Rylstone Shires. The Mid-Western Regional Council also incorporated the area of the historic Wyaldra Shire, which was abolished in an earlier round of local government amalgamations.
