Bjarne Fjærtoft
Bjarne Fjærtoft (7 November 1899 – 28 August 1981) is a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He was born in Jondal Municipality. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Møre og Romsdal in 1954, and was re-elected on one occasion. Fjærtoft held various positions in the municipal council of Ã…lesund Municipality from 1947 to 1955, serving as mayor in 1950–1951. Outside politics he worked as a jurist, most notably as stipendiary magistrate ('' byfogd'') in from 1946 to 1969, having graduated as cand.jur. The Liberal Party (, , V; ) is a social liberal political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and is the oldest political party in Norway. Despite its native name, the Liberal Party is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and usually cooperates much more with the right wing parties. Jondal Municipality
Jondal is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1863 until its dissolution in 2020 when it became part of Ullensvang Municipality in Vestland county. It was located on the Folgefonna peninsula in the Hardanger district, on the eastern shore of the Hardangerfjorden. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Jondal. Other villages in Jondal include Herand, Kysnesstranda, and Torsnes. Prior to its dissolution in 2020, the municipality is the 305th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Møre og Romsdal is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway.
