Ayshea
Ayshea (; born Ayshea Hague, 12 November 1948) is a British singer, actress and television presenter. Biography Born in Highgate, London, and educated at Arts Educational School, London, Ayshea was trained in ballet, music, drama and dance. She made her film debut as an uncredited extra in the film ''Tom Thumb'' (1958). As a teenager, she was signed to her first record label, Fontana, which released her debut single, "Eeny Meeny", in 1965. In 1965 and 1966 she toured in the UK with Jimmy Cliff as part of his band The New Generation. She made appearances on television shows such as '' Thank Your Lucky Stars'' and ''Discotheque''. Granada TV's producer Muriel Young hired Ayshea to host her own pop show, '' Lift Off with Ayshea'', in 1969. The series ran for 122 episodes until 1974. Lift Off With Ayshea
''Lift Off with Ayshea'' is a British TV show, produced by Granada Television for the ITV network, and starring Ayshea Brough, which ran for 122 editions spanning eight series, between November 1969 and December 1974. Preceded by the show ''Discotheque'' which had been hosted by Dianne Greaves, the replacement was originally entitled ''Lift Off'' and was aired in the children's programming schedule, but was seen by many as ITV's junior answer to the BBC's ''Top of the Pops''. Ayshea (formally Ayshea Brough) had appeared on the earlier ''Discotheque'' in March 1969 and was one of the first women of Asian heritage to present a British television series, initially co-hosting the show with Graham Bonney and later singer Wally Whyton. ''UFO'' is a 1970 British science fiction television series about the covert efforts of an international defence organisation (under the auspices of the United Nations) to prevent an alien invasion of Earth. It was created by Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson with Reg Hill, and produced by the Andersons and Lew Grade's AP Films#Century 21, Century 21 for Grade's ITC Entertainment company. A single series of 26 episodes (including the pilot) was filmed over the course of more than a year; a five-month production break was caused by the closure of MGM-British Studios in Borehamwood, where the show was initially made. "Master Jack" is a song written by David Marks and first recorded by Four Jacks and a Jill. It reached #1 in South Africa and Canada (2 weeks at #1), #3 on the US adult contemporary chart, and #18 on both the ''Billboard'' chart and in Australia in 1968. Roy Wood
Roy Wood (born 8 November 1946) is an English musician, singer and songwriter. He was particularly successful in the 1960s and 1970s as member and co-founder of the Move, Electric Light Orchestra and Wizzard. Wood formed the Move in 1965, and had hits including " Flowers in the Rain". While the Move were still together, Wood, along with his band colleagues Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan, founded Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), which was later to gain major commercial success. After increasing tensions, Wood left ELO in 1972 and formed a new group, Wizzard, who had seven hits, including Wood's most regularly broadcast song, " I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day". Peter Brough
Peter Royce Brough (26 February 1916 – 3 June 1999) was an English radio ventriloquist who became a well-known name to audiences in the 1950s. He is associated with his puppet Archie Andrews. Early life and career Peter Royce Brough was born on 26 February 1916 in Ealing, west London. His father, Arthur, was a ventriloquist and a frequent performer on the variety stages around London. Brough senior gave up performing in the early 1920s and concentrated on a textile business. Peter left school at 15 and worked for a Bayswater department store called Whiteleys, first as an errand boy and later as a counter salesman. He emulated his father by developing his ventriloquist skills, which he continued to practise whilst working at Whiteleys. Muriel Young (19 June 1923 – 24 March 2001) was an English television continuity announcer, presenter and producer. Early life Young was born in 1923 in Bishop Middleham near Sedgefield, County Durham. As a child, she lived with her family in the gatehouse of Elmwood (now the Elmwood Community Centre), Hartburn, County Durham near Stockton-on-Tees. Her father, Wilfrid Young, was batman and later chauffeur to Col Kitching, who lived at Elmwood for many years after retiring from the army in 1939. Early career Young worked briefly as a librarian on leaving school and attended art college, before deciding to embark on a career as an actress.
