Asociación Atlética Eureka, mostly known as Eureka was an Argentine football club located in Barracas, Buenos Aires, that played in the top division of Argentine football, Primera División for one season. It was one of the shortest lifetimes clubs of Argentine football, with less than five years active until it was merged to Sportivo Palermo. History The club was established on January 14, 1915, by a group of former members of recently dissolved Club Independiente de La Plata. They sent an affiliation request to the Argentine Football Association to register Eureka in official competitions. The original request was rejected although the AFA gave its approval short time later, therefore Eureka became a member of the Association. In 1916, Eureka lost the semi-final v. San Telmo to achieve a place in División Intermedia, the second division by those times. Sportivo Palermo
Club Sportivo Palermo was an Argentine football club that played in the Primera División during the 1920s. After being relegated in the 1930s and having played at lower divisions, the club was finally disbanded in the 1980s. History On May 18, 1908, Club Sportivo Palermo was established, adopting blue as its jersey color. The great number of clubs that were founded during the beginning of the 20th century in Argentina resulted in the creation of many leagues and associations, which run in line with Asociación Argentina de Football. One of those leagues was the "Federación Argentina de Football", which run until 1914 when it merged with AFA. Sportivo Palermo wanted to affiliate to the new association, so the team merged with Club Atlas, an institution from La Paternal, Buenos Aires, in 1915. Club Atlético Peñarol (), more commonly referred to as Peñarol, is a Uruguayan professional football club based in Montevideo. Floresta is a neighbourhood located to the west of Buenos Aires. The district developed and was named after Buenos Aires Western Railway's first terminal station's area called ''La Floresta'', in 1857. 1932 Argentine Primera División
The 1932 Primera División was the 41st season of top-flight football in Argentina. It continued with both associations organising tournaments: the official AFA season, contested between March 13 and November 13, used the same format as the previous season: a double round-robin format with no relegation at the end of the tournament. The dissident Liga Argentina de Football (LAF, the professional one) started on March 20, with two relegations programmed although a change of rules determined that only Sportivo Palermo was relegated to the second division. Sportivo Barracas won the amateur Asociación Argentina de Football (AFA) title while River Plate won its second Primera División title after a decisive playoff against Independiente. The AFA season began on March 21 and ended in January 1921 while the AAmF began on March 28 and also ended in January 1921. Boca Juniors won its 2nd. consecutive AFA championship while River Plate won the dissident Asociación Amateurs de Football (AAmF) title, putting an ended to the seven consecutive titles won by Racing.
