1920 Argentine Primera División
The 1920 Argentine Primera División was the 29th season of top-flight football in Argentina. The AFA season began on March 21 and ended in January 1921 while the AAmF began on March 28 and also ended in January 1921. Boca Juniors won its 2nd. consecutive AFA championship while River Plate won the dissident Asociación Amateurs de Football (AAmF) title, putting an ended to the seven consecutive titles won by Racing. As champion of the AFA season, Boca Juniors qualified to the 1920 Copa Aldao. Final tables Asociación Argentina de Football - Copa Campeonato Club Eureka disappeared when merging with Sportivo Palermo while the Association expanded the number of to 13 clubs participating. The Copa Ricardo Aldao ( English: ''Ricardo Aldao Cup''), popularly called Campeonato Rioplatense and Copa Río de La Plata, was an official AFA- AUF football club competition contested annually, albeit irregularly, between the league champions of Argentina and Uruguay. The trophy was donated by Argentine football executive Ricardo Aldao (1863–1956), who would later become president of the Argentine Football Association. The cup is one of several inter-South American club competitions that have been organised on the continent. Primera B Metropolitana
Primera B Metropolitana is one of two professional leagues that form the third level of the Argentine football league system. The division is made up of 17 clubs mainly from the city of Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, Greater Buenos Aires. Originally created as the second division, it became the third level after a restructuring of the system in 1985 that ended with the creation of Primera B Nacional, set as the second division since then. The other league at level three is the Torneo Federal A, where teams from regional leagues take part. Club Sportivo Buenos Aires is a defunct Argentine football club from the city of Buenos Aires that played in Primera División during the 1920s. History The club was founded on 1 February 1918, when clubs Buenos Aires Isla Maciel and Sportivo Argentino merged. The Sportivo Argentino had been founded in 1915 by former players of Boca Juniors' youth and senior players separated from the club due to problems with its managers.
