Arcology, a Blend word, portmanteau of "architecture" and "ecology",. is a field of creating architectural design principles for very densely populated and Sustainable development, ecologically low-impact human habitats. The term was coined in 1969 by architect Paolo Soleri, who believed that a completed arcology would provide space for a variety of residential, commercial, and agricultural facilities while minimizing individual human environmental impact. The Arco lamp is a modern floor lamp designed by brothers Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni for in 1962. The lamp is characterized by a suspended spun aluminum pendant attached to an upright block of Carrara marble via a cantilevered arching arm made of stainless steel. The lamp has been in constant production since its original release in 1962. Johann Philipp D'Arco
Johann Philipp d'Arco, Count of Arco (11 May 1652 – 18 February 1704) was a soldier who served the Habsburg monarchy for 30 years. Because he surrendered the fortress of Breisach after only 13 days, he was sentenced to death and executed. A different general named Arco, Jean Baptist, Comte d'Arco was employed by the Electorate of Bavaria, Austria's enemy in the War of the Spanish Succession. Career D'Arco was born in Arco, Trentino, and already had 30 years distinguished service when he was ordered by Louis William, Margrave of Baden-Baden in 1703 to defend Breisach to the last man against a French attack under Claude Louis Hector de Villars.
