Arcade Comics
Arcade Comics was a short-lived independent comic book company founded by former Image Comics mainstay Rob Liefeld and Jimmy Jay of Jay Company Comics. This is Liefeld's fourth publishing label after Extreme Studios, Maximum Press and Awesome Comics. Image Comics
Image Comics is an independent American American comic book, comic book publisher and is the third largest direct market comic book and graphic novel publisher in the industry by market share. Its best-known publications include ''Spawn (comics), Spawn'', ''The Walking Dead (comic book), The Walking Dead'', ''Kick-Ass (comic book), Kick-Ass'', ''Invincible (comics), Invincible'', ''Jupiter's Legacy (comic), Jupiter's Legacy'', ''Witchblade'', ''The Maxx'', ''Savage Dragon'', ''Bone (comics), Bone'', ''Saga (comics), Saga'', ''Radiant Black'' and ''Stray Dogs (comic), Stray Dogs''. Rob Liefeld
Robert Liefeld (; born October 3, 1967) is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable (comics), Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''The New Mutants (comic book), The New Mutants'' and later ''X-Force (comic book), X-Force''. In 1992, he and several other popular Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which started a wave of comic books Creator ownership in comics, owned by their creators rather than by publishers. Jay Company Comics
Jays are a paraphyletic grouping of passerine birds within the family Corvidae. Although the term "jay" carries no taxonomic weight, most or all of the birds referred to as jays share a few similarities: they are small to medium-sized, usually have colorful feathers and are quite noisy. These superificial characteristics set them apart from most other corvids such as crows, ravens, jackdaws, rooks and magpies, which are larger and have darker plumage. Many so-called "jays" are genetically closer to these other corvids than other jays, however. Systematics and species Jays are not a monophyletic group. Extreme Studios
Awesome Comics or Awesome Entertainment (also known as Awesome-Hyperwerks when briefly joined with Hyperwerks Entertainment) was an American comic book studio formed in 1997 by Rob Liefeld following his expulsion from Image Comics, a company he co-founded five years prior. Awesome Comics was the successor of Extreme Studios and Maximum Press, Liefeld's imprints at Image, and was followed by his new company Arcade Comics upon its closure in 2000. Netflix was in talks to adapt the characters for a series of films in 2018 but the deal collapsed. Youngblood (comics)
Youngblood is a superhero team starring in their self-titled comic book series, created by writer/artist Rob Liefeld. The team made its debut as a backup feature in ''RAMM'' #1 (May 1987) before the next month appearing in the one-shot ''Megaton Explosion'' #1 (June 1987) before later appearing in April 1992 in its own ongoing series as the flagship publication for Image Comics and the wider Image Universe. Youngblood was originally published by Image Comics, and later by Awesome Entertainment. Upon Rob Liefeld's return to Image Comics, it was revived in 2008, 2012, and 2017. In 2019, Liefeld revealed that he has not owned the rights to ''Youngblood'' for several years. In comics in the United States, a trade paperback (shortened: TPB or trade) is a collection of stories originally published in comic books, reprinted in book format, usually presenting either a complete miniseries, a story arc from a single title, or a series of stories with an arc or common theme. A trade paperback may reproduce the stories either at the same size in which they were originally presented (in comic book format), in a smaller " digest-sized" format, or a larger-than-original hardcover. This article applies to both paperback and hardcover collections. In the comics industry, the term "trade paperback market" may refer to the market for any collection, regardless of its actual cover.
