Aníbal (wrestler)
Carlos Ignacio Carrillo Contreras (November 5, 1940 – March 4, 1994) was a Mexican ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, known under the ring name Aníbal. Carrillo made his debut in November 1963, and adopted the '' enmascarado'' character (masked) Aníbal, named after the Carthaginian general Hannibal, in 1965. Carrilo's career peaked in the late 1960s and the 1970s as he worked for Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre and the Universal Wrestling Association, winning a number of championships. Carrillo was unmasked after losing a '' Lucha de Apuesta'' (bet fight) to Máscara Año 2000 on December 13, 1991. Carrillo retired from wrestling in 1993 and died from a brain tumor in 1994. El Hijo de Aníbal (Spanish for "the Son of Aníbal") is billed as Aníbal's son, but it has never been confirmed if he is indeed the son of Carrillo or if he paid for the rights to use the name, a practice not uncommon in Lucha Libre. José Ángel Vargas Sánchez (August 2, 1938 – April 26, 1986) was a Mexican ''Luchador'' or professional wrestler best known under the ring name ''Angel Blanco''. Vargas is the father-in-law of the first Ángel Blanco Jr. and the father of the current Ángel Blanco Jr. and Hijo del Ángel Blanco I and II, as well as the grandfather of Horus. Roberto González Cruz (May 22, 1946 – April 6, 1986) was a Mexican professional wrestler who wrestled under the name El Solitario. During his career he held both the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Middleweight Championship. After achieving stardom in Mexico's oldest promotion, Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre, Gonzalez Cruz joined the breakaway promotion, the Universal Wrestling Association, where he held four more world championships in the early 1980s. Villano III
Arturo Díaz Mendoza (March 23, 1952 – August 21, 2018), best known by his ring name Villano III (Spanish: "Villano Tercero"; English: "Villain the third"), was a Mexican '' luchador'' (or professional wrestler). A second-generation wrestler, he was son of ''luchador'' Ray Mendoza and the father of ''luchador enmascarado''s Villano III Jr. and El Hijo del Villano III. UWA World Middleweight Championship
The UWA World Middleweight Championship (''Campeonato Mundial de Peso Medio UWA'' in Spanish) is a professional wrestling championship originally created and sanctioned by the Mexican lucha libre promotion Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) from 1976 until the UWA closed in 1995. Upon the closing of the UWA, the title migrated to Japan's Michinoku Pro Wrestling, Toryumon Japan and Kaientai Dojo promotions. Currently, the title resides in Professional Wrestling Just Tap Out (JTO). As a professional wrestling championship, the title is not won not by actual competition, but by a scripted ending to a match determined by the bookers and match makers. José Díaz Velázquez (July 6, 1929 – April 16, 2003), better known by his ring name Ray Mendoza, was a Mexican ''luchador'' (or professional wrestler). Francisco Flores (date of birth unknown) is a former Mexican professional wrestling promoter who is most known for his part in creating and running the Universal Wrestling Association from the mid-1970s until the 1990s when it closed down. At one point in time the UWA's shows as the ''Toreo de Quatro Caminos'' arena were the biggest drawing shows in all of Mexico, putting the UWA in contention for being the biggest wrestling promotion in Mexico at the time. Genaro Jacobo Contreras (born September 19, 1949), better known by his ring name Ringo Mendoza, is a Mexican professional wrestling trainer and retired '' luchador'' (or professional wrestler) for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). The Mexican National Middleweight Championship ''()'' is a professional wrestling championship controlled by the ' (Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission).
