Angoulême International Comics Festival Prix Jeunesse 9–12 Ans
The Prix Jeunesse 9–12 ans is awarded to comics authors at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. It rewards the best album for a 9 to 12 years old targeted public. The award started in 1981 as the "Alfred enfant", without the distinction in age groups. In 1984, the named changed for one year to "Alfred du meilleur album enfant". From 1987, distinction is made between the age categories. This award is then called "Alfred moins de 12 ans". In 1988, the name changes to "Alfred du meilleur album jeunesse". In 1989, the name changes again to "Alph'art Jeunesse". Between 1991 and 1995, the distinction between the two categories disappears. In 1996, the name changes to "Alph'art Jeunesse 9–12 ans". The Angoulême International Comics Festival (AICF; ) is the second largest comics festival in Europe after the Lucca Comics & Games in Italy, and the third biggest in the world after Lucca Comics & Games and the Comiket of Japan. It has occurred every year since 1974 in Angoulême, France, on the last week end of January. ''Papyrus'' is a Belgian comic book series, written and illustrated by Lucien De Gieter. The story takes place in Ancient Egypt. It was first published in 1974 in '' Spirou'' magazine in the form of episodes. An animated series was created in 1998 that was two seasons long (52 episodes) and shown on TFOU in France and in Quebec on Radio-Canada. It is airing in 2016 on Unis. ''Aquablue'' is a French science fiction graphic novel by writer Thierry Cailleteau with several artists, Olivier Vatine (first volumes) and Ciro Tota (middle volumes) and Stéphane Brangier ('Siro', latest volumes). An adventure and military-based series, it also features ecological themes and criticism of colonial exploitation. Much of the series has been translated into German and parts into English. Bob De Moor
Robert Frans Marie De Moor (20 December 1925 – 26 August 1992), better known under his pen name Bob de Moor, was a Belgian comics creator. Chiefly noted as an artist, he is considered an early master of the Ligne claire style. He wrote and drew several comics series on his own, but also collaborated with Hergé on several volumes of ''The Adventures of Tintin''. He completed the unfinished story '' Professor Sató's Three Formulae, Volume 2: Mortimer vs. Mortimer'' of the '' Blake and Mortimer'' series, after the death of the author Edgar P. Jacobs. ''Cori, de Scheepsjongen'' ("Cori, the cabin boy"/ "Cori Le Moussaillon" in French) was a Belgian comics series (1951–1993) by Bob de Moor. It is a historical adventure strip set in the 16th century, drawn in a realistic style with much attention to detail. It is often regarded as De Moor's magnum opus. Concept Ever since his youth Bob de Moor was fascinated by ship transport, which echoed back in his later comic strips.
