América de Cali Femenino, commonly known as América Femenino, is the women's association football section of América de Cali based in the city of Cali, Colombia. They participate in Liga Profesional Femenina, the highest category of women's football, organized by Dimayor. Like their male counterpart, they play their home games at the Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero. History The team was officially presented on 15 September 2016 in Cali, along with its first two signings, players Catalina Usme and Nicole Regnier. Marcela Gómez, daughter of the club's main shareholder Tulio Gómez, was in charge of the idea of creating a women's team linked to América; she would become the first president of the women's team. Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero
The Estadio Olimpico Pascual Guerrero is a football stadium, also used for athletics, concerts, and rugby sevens, in Cali, Colombia. The stadium is named to honor the poet Pascual Guerrero. The stadium and the sports complex that surrounds it are one of the finest and most modern sports complexes in Latin America, and led to references of Cali as the "Sports Capital of America". The "Pascual", as Cali's inhabitants usually call the stadium, replaced the now defunct ''Estadio Galilea'' which was located in the Versailles neighbourhood, where the first national athletics competition was held in 1928. 2019 Colombian Women's Football League
The 2019 Colombian Women's Football League (officially known as the Liga Águila Femenina 2019 for sponsorship reasons) was the third season of Colombia's top-flight women's football league. The season started on 13 July and concluded on 30 September 2019 with the second leg of the finals. América de Cali won their first league title following a 3–2 win on aggregate against Independiente Medellín in the finals. Atlético Huila were the defending champions, but were eliminated by the eventual runners-up Independiente Medellín in the semifinals. Format For this season, the league featured 20 teams, which were split into five double round-robin groups of four teams. 2020 Copa Libertadores Femenina
The 2020 Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina was the 12th edition of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina (also referred to as the ''Copa Libertadores Femenina''), South America's premier women's club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The competition was played between 5 and 21 March 2021. The tournament was originally to be held in Chile between 25 September and 11 October 2020. However, it was postponed by CONMEBOL on 19 June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, provisionally to early 2021. The 2020 Colombian Women's Football League (officially known as the Liga Femenina BetPlay Dimayor 2020 for sponsorship purposes) was the fourth season of Colombia's top-flight women's football league. The season started on 16 October and ended on 13 December 2020. Santa Fe won their second title in the competition after beating defending champions América de Cali in the finals by an aggregate score of 4–1 over two legs. Format For this season the league featured 13 teams, down from the 18 which had originally expressed their intention to take part prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2019 Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina was the 11th edition of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina (also referred to as the ''Copa Libertadores Femenina''), South America's premier women's club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in Quito, Ecuador from 11 to 28 October 2019. The final originally scheduled for 27 October 2019 was rescheduled to 28 October 2019 due to a series of protests and riots in Ecuador.
