Altunizade İsmail Zühtü Pasha
Altunizade is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Üsküdar, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 13,459 (2022). It is located on the Asian side of the city. The location takes its name from Altunizade İsmail Zühtü Pasha (1806–1887), a wealthy civil servant in the Ottoman Empire, who established the settlement in an utmost area on the Anatolian part of Istanbul in the 19th century. "Altunizade" means gold trader in the Ottoman Turkish language. Üsküdar () is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 35 km2, and its population is 524,452 (2022). It is a large and densely populated district on the Anatolian (Asian) shore of the Bosphorus. Üsküdar University
Üsküdar University is a foundation university established in 2011 in Üsküdar, Istanbul, Turkey by the Human Values and Mental Health Foundation under the leadership of Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who served as the president. The law concerning the establishment of the university was published in the Official Gazette on March 3, 2011, under number 27863. Founded with the title of "Türkiye's first thematic university", Üsküdar University welcomed its first students in the 2012-2013 academic year. The Metrobus () is a bus rapid transit route in Istanbul, Turkey. The system has 44 stations that follow the city's ring road via Avcılar, Zincirlikuyu and the Bosphorus Bridge to Söğütlüçeşme using dedicated bus lanes for almost the entire length of the route. The busway, the first section of which opened in 2007 after two years of construction, is used by a number of Metrobus lines which operate within a 'closed' system carrying 1 million people daily. Otoyol 1
Otoyol 1 (), abbreviated as O-1 and locally referred to as The First Beltway (), is a controlled access highway in Istanbul, Turkey. The O-1 serves as the inner beltway and is one of three intercontinental motorways in the city, the others being the Otoyol 2, O-2, and Otoyol 7, O-7, as well as connecting the European and Asian parts of the city via the Bosphorus Bridge. It starts Osmaniye neighborhood in Bakırköy district on the European part, runs through the city over the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus, and terminates in Söğütlüçeşme neighborhood of Kadıköy district on the Asian part. Otoyol 1 is toll-free, however the Bosporus Bridge is a toll bridge in both directions, having its toll plaza at the Asian side. Capitol Shopping Center
Capitol Shopping Centre (), opened in 1993 in Altunizade neighbourhood of Üsküdar, is the first modern big shopping mall on the Asian part of Istanbul, Turkey. Built on 6 floors and covering an area of 73,000 m2, the shopping complex houses 157 retail stores, a department store and an MMM Migros Türk, Migros supermarket, 8 movie theaters, fast food restaurants, cafeterias, bowling alley and entertainment center. It houses also Capitol Radio, a private radio station broadcasting from the complex. It has an open air and covered parking lot. Several cafes are located in the area around a huge central spring fountain. Capitol Shopping Centre also has a movie theatre which has 14 different parts. Altunizade Mosque
Altunizade Mosque (), also known as İsmail Zühtü Pasha Mosque () is a 19th-century Ottoman mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. The mosque is situated in the Altunizade neighborhood of Üsküdar district in Istanbul. It was commissioned by Altunizade İsmail Zühtü Pasha (1806–1887), who is buried in a protected place in the mosque's yard. The mosque was built in 1865. It is probably the last example of Ottoman architecture mosques in the Anatolian part of Istanbul. Initially, the mosque was part of a social complex () consisting of an infant school, a Turkish bath, a time-keeping office for prayer, a fountain, lodgings for the imam, the worship leader, and the muezzin, the caller of prayer, a bakery and some shops.
