Alief Taylor High School
Alief Taylor High School is a public high school in the Alief Independent School District. It is located in an unincorporated area in the Alief community of Harris County, near Houston, Texas, United States. Opened in 2001, Alief Taylor is the newest high school in the district. It is named after Edward "Doc" Taylor, who taught AP American History at Alief Hastings High School. According to the Texas Education Agency, Taylor covers grades 9-12 and has 500 or more students in each grade level. When it opened in the fall of 2001, it had only freshmen and sophomores. During the 2002–2003 school year the 11th grade was added. Taylor added its first 12th grade class during the 2003–2004 school year. Alief Taylor is one of two schools in Alief ISD that does not include a Ninth Grade Center, a separate building for ninth grade students. The other is Kerr High School. Alief Independent School District, also known as Alief ISD, is a school district that is based in southwest Houston, Texas, United States. The district is one of the largest school districts in the state and one of the largest school districts in the United States. Joshua Elekwachi Kalu (born August 28, 1995) is an American professional football safety. He played college football at Nebraska and signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Kalu has also been a member of the New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and Miami Dolphins. Early life Kalu was born on August 28, 1995, in Houston, Texas. Duke Ejiofor (born April 24, 1995) is an American former professional football linebacker. He played college football at Wake Forest, and was selected by the Houston Texans in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL draft. College career As a junior at Wake Forest, Ejiofor had 50 tackles, 17 for losses, 10.5 sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles. Michael Bennett Jr. (born November 13, 1985) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies, and signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2009.
