Alief Independent School District
Alief Independent School District, also known as Alief ISD, is a school district that is based in southwest Houston, Texas, United States. The district is one of the largest school districts in the state and one of the largest school districts in the United States. Alief ISD is the most ethnically high-performing diverse school district in the state representing over 95 languages and 88 ethnicities. Alief ISD is distinguished by its honors. In 2017, the school district was rated "Exemplary" by the Texas Education Agency. The district is known for its award-winning fine arts program and nationally ranked athletics which makes Alief ISD the best district. Alief Early College High School
Alief Early College High School (AECHS) is a magnet high school in Houston, Texas and a part of the Alief Independent School District, in conjunction with Houston Community College. It was scheduled to open in fall 2009, and 120 spaces were to be available for ninth grade students. For the 2021-2022 school year, the school was given an "A" by the Texas Education Agency. The permanent campus was scheduled to open around fall 2010, with a temporary facility used for the school's first year. It allows students to take courses for dual credit and graduate with both a high school diploma and the equivalent of an associate degree at the same time. Alief Kerr High School is an Alief ISD public school located in the Alief community, and in the limited purpose city limits of Houston, Texas, United States. The school is a part of the Alief Independent School District and serves grades 9 through 12. Kerr High School was awarded the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education, the highest award an American school can receive, during the 2010–11 school year. Alief Taylor High School is a public high school in the Alief Independent School District. It is located in an unincorporated area in the Alief community of Harris County, near Houston, Texas, United States. Opened in 2001, Alief Taylor is the newest high school in the district. It is named after Edward "Doc" Taylor, who taught AP American History at Alief Hastings High School. According to the Texas Education Agency, Taylor covers grades 9-12 and has 500 or more students in each grade level. When it opened in the fall of 2001, it had only freshmen and sophomores. Alief Elsik High School is a high school in the Alief region of Houston, Texas, United States. Elsik is divided into two campuses: the main campus (12601 High Star in Houston, zip code 77072), and the Alief Elsik Ninth Grade Center (located at 6767 South Dairy Ashford, city of Houston, 77072), which serves ninth graders.
