Alfredo Holtreman, Viscount Of Alvalade
His Lordship Alfredo Holtreman, Visconde of Alvalade (Alfredo Augusto das Neves Holtreman; 6 April 1837 – 7 June 1920), was a Portuguese aristocrat, lawyer, land tenant, businessman and philanthropist. Alfredo Holtreman wasn’t born into aristocracy. He earned his noble title through merit and service. His reputation and dedication led King D. Carlos to grant him the title of 1st Viscount of Alvalade on 22 July 1898. He was the first president of Sporting CP, from 1906 to 1910, sports club founded in 1906 by his grandson José Alvalade through the Viscount's donation of money and land. History Born in Santarém, Alfredo Holtreman graduated from the University of Coimbra Law School being awarded a Bachelor of Law degree and settled in Lisbon since one of the family's farms was in Lumiar, becoming one of the most prestigious lawyers in the Portuguese capital along the way. 5 October 1910 Revolution () was the overthrow of the centuries-old List of Portuguese monarchs, Portuguese monarchy and its replacement by the First Portuguese Republic. It was the result of a ''coup d'état'' organized by the Portuguese Republican Party. By 1910, the Kingdom of Portugal was in deep crisis: national anger over the 1890 British Ultimatum, the royal family's expenses, the Lisbon Regicide, assassination of the King and his heir in 1908, changing religious and social views, instability of the two political parties (Progressive Party (Portugal), Progressive and Regenerator Party, Regenerator), the dictatorship of João Franco, and the regime's apparent inability to adapt to modern times all led to widespread resentment against the Monarchy. José Maria Espírito Santo Silva Ricciardi (born 27 October 1954) is a Portuguese economist and banker. Career Ricciardi has a degree in Sciences Economiques Appliqués from the Institute of Business Administration of the Catholic University of Leuven (1834–1968), Catholic University of Louvain - Belgium. His final Thesis was on "La Banque et la Prise de Décision d'Octroi de Crédits d'Investissement". He graduated with honors. Ricciardi has dedicated a great part of his professional career to the banking sector. In the late 70s, he joined Banco Inter-Atlântico, Banco Inter-Atlântico, SA in Rio de Janeiro.
