Alfonso Blanco Antúnez
Alfonso Blanco Antúnez (born 31 July 1987) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Liga MX club León. Club career Blanco began in Pachuca's youth division teams and then was transferred on loan for Indios de Ciudad Juárez in the 2007 Season after having a good performance during the U-20 World Cup in Canada in 2006. Blanco arrived to Indios as one of the main bookings for the season but after 4 games and receiving 10 goals he was relegated to the bench for the rest of the season. Indios managed to qualify for the Liguilla in Apertura 2007 and due to an injury from the goalie Joel Barba, Blanco returned to the first team and helped the team get to the finals. Though he did not make his debut in the Primera División with Pachuca, there were already offers for Blanco from European clubs from Spain, Greece and Holland but in the end, he settled with Cruz Azul. Tamiahua
Tamiahua is a municipality located in the northern part of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It covers an area of 985.4 km2. It is located at the southern end of the Tamiahua Lagoon. Name The name may come from the Náhuatl language ''Tla-mia-hua-c'': "In the flowers of maize of the land"; or Huasteco, ''Tam-yan-ja'': "Place of great waters". 2010–11 Liga De Ascenso Season
The 2010–11 Ascenso MX season is the second season of the Liga de Ascenso, the second-level football league of Mexico. It consists of two separate tournaments, the Apertura and the Clausura. The winners of both tournaments will meet in a playoff to determine the team being promoted to the 2011–12 Primera Division de Mexico season. The Apertura tournament began on July, 16th 2010 with the first matches of the classification phase and ended on December, 4th 2010 with the Apertura Liguilla final. The final was won by Tijuana, who defeated Veracruz 3–0 on aggregate. The Clausura tournament began on January, 7th 2011 and ended on May, 14th 2011. The 2009 Primera División Clausura was the second football tournament of the Mexican Primera División 2008−09 season. The tournament began on January 16, 2009 and ended on May 31, 2009. The 2008 Primera División Apertura is the first football tournament of the Mexican Primera División 2008−09 season. The tournament began in August 2008 and was contested by the league's 18 teams. Reigning champion Santos Laguna failed to advance to the final losing 2-1 on a two-leg aggregate (0-0 in the first leg) to eventual champions Toluca in the semifinals, and were unable to defend their title. The team of Toluca would beat Cruz Azul 7-6 in penalties after tying 2-2 on a two-leg aggregate (2-0 in the first leg).
