Aleksandar Ranković (footballer)
Aleksandar Ranković (Serbian Cyrillic alphabet, Serbian Cyrillic: Александар Ранковић; born 31 August 1978) is a Serbian association football, football manager and former player. He is currently the head coach of Singapore Premier League club Lion City Sailors FC, Lion City Sailors. As a player, Ranković played the entirety of his professional career in the Netherlands and his native Serbia. Ranković also holds a Dutch Passport. Club career Ranković started his professional career with FK Rad, making his first appearances in 1997, at the age of 19. In 2002, Netherlands, Dutch side SBV Vitesse showed interest for the player and brought him into the Eredivisie, where he played as a first team regular for three seasons. In 2005, he moved to fellow Eredivisie participants ADO Den Haag where he became one of their key players. The 2024–25 Singapore Cup will be the 25th edition of the Singapore Cup, Singapore's annual premier club Association football, football knock-out tournament organised by the Football Association of Singapore. Lion City Sailors are the defending champions, having won the tournament in 2023 after defeating previous champions Hougang United 3–1 in the final. Thailand, Thai side BG Pathum United F.C., BG Pathum United will join the competition. This is the 3rd time they will play in the competition after last appearing in 2009 and 2010. Singapore Cup
The Singapore Cup is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Singaporean football. Established in 1998, it is the foremost prestigious cup competition in the country. It is open to clubs in the Singapore Premier League. Since 2005, foreign teams from other countries in Southeast Asia are occasionally invited to compete in the Singapore Cup. Thailand club, Chonburi was the first foreign club reaching the final in 2006 (they lost 3–2 in the final to local club Tampines Rovers). In 2009, Bangkok Glass became the second foreign team to reach the final, losing against local club Geylang United, but they beat Tampines Rovers in 2010 to become the first foreign winners of the Singapore Cup. The 2024–25 Singapore Premier League (also known as the AIA Singapore Premier League due to sponsorship reasons) is the 7th season of the Singapore Premier League, the top-flight Singaporean professional league for association football clubs, since its rebranding in 2018. AFC Champions League Two
The AFC Champions League Two (abbreviated as the ACL Two or ACL2) is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation. It is the second-tier competition of Asian club football, ranked below the AFC Champions League Elite and above the AFC Challenge League. The competition was founded in 2004 as the AFC Cup, it was played primarily among clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots to the top-tier AFC Champions League. 2024–25 AFC Champions League Two
The 2024–25 AFC Champions League Two was the 21st edition of the Asia's second-tier club football tournament, organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and first since it was rebranded as the AFC Champions League Two. This was the first season using a revised format. It featured 32 teams in the group stage. The final was played on 18 May 2025 at the Bishan Stadium in Bishan, Singapore. The winners were given an indirect preliminary stage slot for the 2025–26 AFC Champions League Elite, if not already qualified through their domestic performance.
