The Asón-Agüera comarca is a historical region of Cantabria, Spain. It is located in the upper courses of the Asón (river), Asón and Agüera rivers, near the border with Biscay, Vizcaya in the Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country. The comarca encompasses the basin of the Asón river and its tributaries such as the Gándara. The region was part of the historical territories of the Valley of Soba and Ruesga Villaverde, and the Merindad de Vecio (Junta de Parayas, Villas Laredo, Seña and clean, and Valle de Guriezo). Ander Herrera Agüera (; born 14 August 1989) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Argentine Primera División club Boca Juniors. Herrera began his career at Zaragoza, before moving to Athletic Bilbao in 2011 and then to Manchester United for €36 million in 2014. With the English club, he won the FA Cup, FA Community Shield, EFL Cup and UEFA Europa League (in which he was named man of the match in the final), and was named as their player of the year for the 2016–17 season. Salvador Gómez (water Polo)
Salvador E. Gómez Agüero (born 11 March 1968 in Santander, Cantabria) is a former water polo player from Spain. He was a member of the national team that won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Four years earlier, when Barcelona hosted the Summer Olympics, he was on the squad that captured the silver medal. Gómez, nicknamed ''Chava'', competed in five Summer Olympics from 1988 to 2004. He is among four Spanish water polo players, all in the 1992 and 1996 medal winning teams, to have competed at five Olympics – the others are Manuel Estiarte, Chiqui Sans and Jesús Rollán. He made his debut for the national side at the 1987 European Championships in Strasbourg. With the Spanish national team he also won the world title twice, in Perth 1998 and Fukuoka 2001.
