ʻAbd al-Majīd (ALA-LC romanization of , ), also spelled as Abd ul Majid, Abd ul-Majid, Abd ol Majid, Abd ol-Majid, and Abdolmajid, is a Muslim male given name and, in modern usage, surname. It is built from the Arabic words '' ʻabd'' and ''al-Majīd'', one of the names of God in the Qur'an, which give rise to the Muslim theophoric names. It means "servant of the All-glorious". It is rendered in Turkish as ''Abdülmecid''. There is a distinct but closely related name, ʻAbd al-Mājid (), with a similar meaning, formed on the Qur'anic name ''al-Mājid''. Abdelmajid Eddine () (born April 17, 1979) is a Moroccan footballer who currently plays for Ittihad Khemisset in the top division in Morocco Botola. Abdul Majeed Didi
Abdul Majeed ( Dhivehi: އަލްއަމީރު އަބްދުލްމަޖީދު ރައްނަބަނޑޭރި ކިލެގެފާނު) (or Al Ameeru Abdul Majeed Rannabandeyri Kilegefaanu) (29 August 1873 – 21 February 1952) served as Sultan of the Maldives from 1944 to 1952. At the time, the Maldives were a British protectorate. Didi is recognized a reformer and has been described as "the father of the modern Maldives". He was fluent in Dhivehi, Urdu, English, Arabic and Sinhalese. Didi spent most of his life in Egypt. He served as the Vice Prime Minister during his father's time. Abdul Majeed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud () (1942 5 May 2007) was a Saudi Arabian politician and businessman who served successively as the governor of the Tabuk, Medina, and Mecca provinces between 1980 and 2007. A prominent member of the House of Saud, Abdul Majeed was seen as a close ally of King Abdullah, as well as a long-time ally of the Sudairi Seven. Early life and education Prince Abdul Majeed was born in Riyadh in 1942 as the 33rd son of King Abdulaziz. Another report mentions his birth year as 1941. His mother was King Abdulaziz's tenth wife, Haya bint Saad Al Sudairi who died on 18 April 2003 at age 90. She was a member of the Sudairi family and the sister of Jawhara bint Saad, another spouse of King Abdulaziz. Prince Abdul Majeed's full brothers were Prince Badr and Prince Abdul Ilah. Kalat was a first-class cricket team from the Pakistani city of Kalat in the north of Baluchistan province, about 150 kilometres south of Quetta. They had one season of first-class cricket in 1969–70, playing two matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. First-class matches The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was expanded from a 12-team tournament in 1968–69 to a 20-team tournament in 1969–70, and Kalat were one of the new teams. Ilgar Mollachiev (1974 – 7 September 2008), better known as Emir Abdul Madzhid (Majid), was the militant leader of the Shariat Jamaat of the Caucasian Front in the Second Chechen War, in the volatile southern Russian republic of Dagestan. He was the deputy of Rappani Khalilov until Khalilov's death in September 2007. He was then appointed the new leader of the Shariat Jamaat by the orders of Dokka Umarov. His nationality was Tsakhur. Abdol Majid Taleqani
Abdol Majid Taleqani (; –1771/2) was an eminent Iranian calligrapher of the 18th century. He was the most celebrated 18th-century calligrapher of the '' Shekasteh'' form of Nastaliq, and is also credited with turning the ''Shekasteh'' script into its definitive form. Biography Taleqani was born in the Taleqan district of Qazvin (now Alborz Province) in Afsharid Iran. Abdol Majid Majidi (,‎ 1929–2014) was an Iranian politician who held several cabinet and public posts during the reign of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. He went into exile following the regime change in Iran in 1979 and settled in Paris. Early life and education Majidi was born in Tehran on 11 January 1929.
