Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited cricket team is a first-class cricket team that plays in the Patron's Trophy. In May 2019, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan revamped the domestic cricket structure in Pakistan, excluding departmental teams in favour of regional sides, therefore ending the participation of the team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was criticised in removing departmental sides, with players voicing their concern to revive the teams. The team was refounded in the 2023/24 season after a revamp of the domestic structure. Mohammad Rizwan (cricketer)
Mohammad Rizwan (, ; born 1 June 1992) is a Pakistani international cricket player. He is a right-handed batter and wicket-keeper who is the current captain of the Pakistan team in limited overs cricket. He also captains Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team in domestic cricket. He has previously been the vice-captain of the Pakistan team in Test cricket and T20Is. He played for Lahore Qalandars in the PSL from 2016 to 2017, for Karachi Kings from 2018 to 2020, and since 2021 captains Multan Sultans. He also led the Multan Sultans to victory in the 2021 Pakistan Super League. In 2021, he was named the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year and was also among the Wisden Cricketers of the Year. The 2007–08 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was one of two first-class domestic cricket competitions that were held in Pakistan during the 2007–08 season. It was the 50th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, contested by 22 teams representing regional cricket associations and departments, and was followed in the schedule by the Pentangular Cup, contested by five teams representing the four provinces and the federal areas. There were substantial changes from the previous season, with the regions and departments being merged into a single competition by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The Pentangular Trophy was a first-class cricket competition that was held intermittently in Pakistan between 1973–74 and 2011–12. History The Pentangular Trophy was first contested in 1973–74. From 1977 to 1978 through to 1979–80 it was known as the BCCP Invitation Tournament. Between 1980–81 and 1986–87, with the exception of 1983–84 when it was not held, it was called the PACO Cup under the sponsorship of the Pakistan Automobile Corporation. After 1983–84, it was only held three times, in 1990–91, 1994–95 and 1995–96, until it was revived in 2005–06. The 2013–14 President's Trophy was one of two first-class cricket competitions that were held in Pakistan during the 2013–14 season, the other being the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. It was the second edition of the President's Trophy. It was contested by eleven departmental teams, one more than the previous season with the addition of Pakistan Television who had won the previous season's Patron's Trophy Grade-II competition. The 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 60th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's domestic first-class cricket competition. It was contested by 16 teams representing eight regional associations and eight departments, and took place from 26 September to 25 December 2017, spanning almost two weeks less than originally planned. Pakistan's former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq was critical of the compressed schedule and the quality of the pitches saying "it takes time to prepare a good pitch for a game and nobody can make it in two days". The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Domestic cricket in Pakistan has undergone many reorganisations, with the number of teams and matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy changing regularly. Saqlain Mushtaq
Saqlain Mushtaq (born 29 December 1976) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former international cricketer who was the head coach of the Pakistani national cricket team between 2021 and 2022. He is best known for pioneering the " doosra", a leg break delivery bowled with an off break action. He was the fastest to reach the milestones of 200 and 250 wickets in ODIs. Mushtaq made history when he became the first Pakistani to take a hat-trick at a Cricket World Cup, which he did against Zimbabwe during the 1999 tournament.
