2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 60th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's domestic first-class cricket competition. It was contested by 16 teams representing eight regional associations and eight departments, and took place from 26 September to 25 December 2017, spanning almost two weeks less than originally planned. Pakistan's former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq was critical of the compressed schedule and the quality of the pitches saying "it takes time to prepare a good pitch for a game and nobody can make it in two days". The format of the competition remained the same as the previous season, with two round-robin group stages and a final. The regions and departments were divided evenly between the two groups for the preliminary group stage, with the four top teams in each advancing to a "Super Eight" group stage; the top team in each of the Super Eight groups contested the final. Federally Administered Tribal Areas Cricket Team
The Federally Administered Tribal Areas cricket team (FATA) is a first-class cricket side represents Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan. They first competed domestic cricket in Pakistan in the 2015–16 season. FATA entered the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy through a qualifying round. In their first ever first-class match, they drew with Habib Bank Limited cricket team in the 2015–16 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. They won their first match in round 6 of the same edition of the tournament, when they defeated Rawalpindi by four wickets. In August 2016 they took part in Pakistan's domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament, the 2016–17 National T20 Cup. In their first match, they beat Rawalpindi by 15 runs. Samiullah Khan (cricketer)
Samiullah Khan Niazi (born 4 August 1982) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who played for Sargodha, Faisalabad and Pakistan as a left-arm medium-fast bowler. Samiullah Khan Niazi was one of the leading wicket-taker in the 2005–06 Pakistani first-class season with 75 wickets at 18.36. He was a late inclusion for Pakistan's 2006 tour of England, replacing Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. He represented Pakistan when he played two one day internationals against Zimbabwe at Karachi and Hyderabad in 2008. He was also first attack bowler of Pakistan A in Euroasia cup tournament where they beat India in final. He is a genuine left arm swing bowler. 2017–18 National T20 Cup
The 2017–18 National T20 Cup was a Twenty20 domestic cricket competition that was played in Pakistan. It was the 14th season of the National Twenty20 Cup in Pakistan. It was originally scheduled to take place in August and September 2017 with eight teams competing. However, in August 2017, the tournament was postponed until November 2017 because of the 2017 Independence Cup and Pakistan's series against Sri Lanka. All the matches were originally scheduled to be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium and the Iqbal Stadium. Following the revision of the competition's schedule, all the fixtures took place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. 2017 Tehreek-e-Labaik Protest
2017 Faizabad sit-in was organized by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). It started a protest on November 8, 2017, and set up camp at the Faizabad Interchange contesting changes in the ''Elections Bill 2017'' in which the word ''oath'' changed to ''declaration''. The protesters demanded the resignation of Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid to "protect the identity of the country." Lahore cricket teams, representing the city of Lahore, have competed in Pakistan's first-class cricket tournaments from 1958–59 to 2018–19, and from 2023 to 2024. Khan Research Laboratories Cricket Team
Khan Research Laboratories is a Pakistani first-class cricket side that plays in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, and also competed in limited overs cricket. It is sponsored by Pakistani nuclear enrichment facility Khan Research Laboratories (KRL). They have played first-class cricket since the 1997–98 season. Habib Bank Limited Cricket Team
The Habib Bank Limited cricket team was a first-class cricket side, sponsored by the Habib Bank Limited, who competed as a departmental team in Pakistan domestic cricket from 1975 to 1976 season. United Bank Limited Cricket Team
United Bank Limited cricket team was a Pakistani domestic cricket team sponsored by United Bank Limited. The team was founded in 1975, and competed in various domestic competitions as a departmental team, principally in first-class cricket, winning nine championship trophies. Home matches were played at the United Bank Limited Sports Complex in Karachi. UBL withdrew from domestic cricket in Pakistan in 1997 before returning in 2006, and regaining a place in first-class competition in 2011.
