Amager Boldklub Tårnby (; commonly known as AB Tårnby) is an association football club based in the town of Tårnby, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark, that competes in the Denmark Series, the fifth tier of the Danish football league system. Founded in 2009 as a merger between Tårnby Boldklub and Amager Boldklub af 1970, AB 70, it is affiliated to the regional football association, DBU Copenhagen. The team plays its home matches at Tårnby Stadium where it has been based since its foundation. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000. History On 1 January 2009, Tårnby Boldklub merged with neighboring Amager Boldklub af 1970 (AB70), and the new association was named AB Tårnby. In the 2019–20 Denmark Series#Group 2, 2019–20 Denmark Series, AB Tårnby ended first in their respective group. Denmark Series
The Denmark Series () is the fifth tier in the Danish football league system. Teams are divided into four groups of ten. The top team in each following promotion group is promoted to the Danish 3rd Division. The bottom three teams in each group are relegated to the regional Copenhagen Series, Zealand Series, Lolland-Falster Series, Funen Series, or Jutland Series as is appropriate for each club geographically. Clubs in the Denmark Series are participants in the Danish Cup tournament. The reserve teams of top-flight Danish Superliga and second-tier Danish 1st Division clubs are allowed to play in the Denmark Series, but 1st Division reserve teams cannot win promotion, as they must stay at least two leagues below their first team squads. Tårnby Municipality (, ) is a '' kommune'' bordering Copenhagen Municipality on the island of Amager just east of Zealand in eastern Denmark. Hassan Naweed Bashir (; born 7 January 1987) is a professional footballer who plays for Brøndby Strand IK. Bashir has played much of his career as a forward, but has been deployed in a variety of attacking roles – as an offensive midfielder, second striker and centre forward. Yousuf Ijaz Butt (; born 18 October 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Denmark Series club Karlslunde IF. Born in Denmark, he plays for the Pakistan national team. Butt has played over 400 games in the Danish football league system, and is considered one of the best South Asian goalkeepers of the 2010s. 2019–20 Denmark Series
The 2019–20 Denmark Series was the 55th season of the Denmark Series, the fourth-tier of the Danish football league structure organised by the Danish FA (DBU). The league was divided in four pools of ten teams each. Initially, the winner of each pool was to be promoted to the 2020-21 Danish 2nd Division, while the last place team would be relegated to a lower division and bottom two teams of each pool in danger of playing relegation-playoff (depending on Danish 2nd Division results). 2023–24 Denmark Series
The 2023–24 Denmark Series is the 59th season of the Denmark Series, the fifth tier of the Danish football league structure organised by the Danish FA (DBU). The season marked a transitional phase in the structure of the Danish leagues. This season, the league is divided into four groups of ten teams each. After the regular season (18 rounds), the top five teams in the four groups are promoted to two promotion groups (east and west) the winners is promoted and the two runner-up will have a play-off for the last spot in the 2024–25 Danish 3rd Division. Tårnby Boldklub
Tårnby Boldklub (or Taarnby Boldklub, ) were a Danish football club based in Tårnby on Amager, which played their home games at Taarnby Stadium. The club was formed on 21 April 1935 as Arbejdernes Idræts Klub Tårnby (AIK Tårnby) and became member of Dansk Arbejder Idrætsforbund (DAI) on 1 May 1935. After nearly 10 years in DAI, it was decided at a general meeting on 16 January 1944 to change their membership to Københavns Boldspil-Union (KBU) and in this regard change their name to Tårnby Boldklub. The club became an extraordinary member of KBU on 1 July 1944 and a full member in February 1945 and started their first season 1944–45 under the new football association by playing in a newly created 'C-række' consisting of 8 clubs.
