2025 Ykkösliiga
The 2025 Ykkösliiga is the second season of the Ykkösliiga, the second highest league in the Finnish football league system. The season began on 21 April 2025. Teams Team changes The league was contested with 10 clubs. * KTP won the 2024 Ykkösliiga and were promoted to 2025 Veikkausliiga. FF Jaro was the season's runner-up and were promoted via play-offs. *Klubi 04 won the 2024 Ykkönen and were promoted automatically. * MP finished 10th in the 2024 Ykkösliiga and were relegated automatically. *Ekenäs IF finished 12th in the 2024 Veikkausliiga and were relegated back after one season in the top tier. *Lahti finished 11th in the 2024 Veikkausliiga. Ykkösliiga
''Ykkösliiga'' (English language, English: ''"League One"''; ) is the second highest level of the Finnish football league system (after the Veikkausliiga), managed by the Football Association of Finland. The teams in Ykkösliiga also play a pre-season league cup, the Ykkösliigacup. The nation-wide second-tier league was first established in 1973 as I divisioona. JIPPO
Jippo (stylised as JIPPO 2001–2024) is a Finnish football club, based in Joensuu. It plays in the Ykkösliiga, the second highest level of Finnish football. Jippo plays its home matches at Mehtimäki, Joensuu. Christian Sund
Christian Sund (born 24 December 1978) is a Finnish football coach and a former player. He is the head coach of Ekenäs IF (EIF) in Ykkösliiga. Coaching career After retiring, Sund worked as a youth coach for Vasa IFK and later SJK. In 2018, he took charge of VPS's B-team and later became assistant manager of the first team in the beginning of 2019. In the summer 2019, he was appointed manager of the club. On 17 November 2021, he signed a two-year contract as the head coach of KPV, beginning in the 2022 season. On 14 November 2023, it was announced that Sund joins Ykkösliiga club KTP as their new assistant manager. Mikkelin Palloilijat (or MP) is a Finnish professional football club, based in Mikkeli, that competes in the Ykkönen, the third tier in Finnish football league system. The club was founded in 1929 and also included volleyball, bandy and ice hockey sections. History In 1998, MP merged with Mikkelin Kissat to form FC Mikkeli. Due to financial difficulties, this union was dissolved in 2001 and the two clubs returned to manage individually. Fotbollsföreningen Jaro (''Jakobstads Rostfria''), commonly known simply as Jaro, is a Finnish professional football club based in the bilingual town of Jakobstad.
