2025 India Open
The 2025 India Open, officially known as the Yonex Sunrise India Open 2025 for sponsorship reasons, was a badminton tournament that took place at the K. D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, India, from 14 to 19 January 2025. Contestants competed for prizes up to US$950,000. Tournament The 2025 India Open was the second tournament of the 2025 BWF World Tour and a part of the India Open, which has been held since 1973. It was organized by the Badminton Association of India with sanction from the BWF. Venue This tournament was held at the K. D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium of the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi, India. BWF World Ranking
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the BWF World Championships, World Championships and Badminton at the Summer Olympics, Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011. Kiran George
Kiran George (born 11 February 2000) is an Indian badminton player. He won the Polish International title. He also competed in the 2020 Thomas Cup and 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships. Career 2021–22 In 2021, Kiran George's first tournament played was the Orléans Masters where lost to Brice Leverdez in the 3rd round. In September, Kiran played in the Polish International where he won the tournament beating Jason Teh in the finals winning his first ever tournament since the Ghana International in 2019. He also reached the semis of the Welsh International but lost to Siril Verma. Yushi Tanaka
is a Japanese badminton player and a member of the Japan national team. A graduate of Nihon University, Tanaka has represented the NTT East Badminton Team since April 2022. He has won two Super 300 titles: the Orléans Masters and the U.S. Open. Alex Lanier
Alex Lanier (born 26 January 2005) is a French badminton player. He was a gold medalist in the 2025 European Championships. He became the first ever French player to win a BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament. In the juniors, Lanier was a boys' singles gold medalist at the 2022 European Junior Championships, and a bronze medalist at the 2023 World Junior Championships. Career Alex Lanier started playing badminton at the age of 3 and later joined the Dives-sur-Mer badminton club. Lee Cheuk Yiu
Lee Cheuk Yiu (; born 28 August 1996) is a Hong Kong badminton player. He won the silver medal at the 2013 Asian Youth Games and a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Junior Championships. Career Lee reached the final of the 2019 Hong Kong Open, after quarter- and semi-final wins against former world champion Viktor Axelsen and former world number one Srikanth Kidambi respectively. Weng Hongyang
Weng Hongyang ( zh, s=翁泓阳, p=Wēng Hóngyáng; born 18 June 1999) is a Chinese badminton player. He won his first BWF World Tour title at the 2019 Lingshui China Masters. He was part of China winning team in the 2024 Thomas Cup. Career Early career Weng entered the Fuzhou Sports School in 2006, and later the Fujian Sports School in 2009. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (; born 20 October 1996) is an Indonesian badminton player. He first rose to senior prominence when he won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games, having won a 2014 Youth Olympic bronze in 2014. At the 2020 Olympics, he won bronze in the men's singles event, becoming the first Youth Olympic badminton medalist to win a medal at the Olympics. Chou Tien-chen
Chou Tien-chen (; born 8 January 1990) is a Taiwanese badminton player. He became the first local shuttler in 17 years to win the men's singles title of the Chinese Taipei Open in 2016 since Indonesian-born Fung Permadi won it in 1999. is a Japanese badminton player affiliated with NTT East. Born in Aomori, he started playing badminton at the age of 5 with the influence of his father. Li Shifeng (; born 9 January 2000) is a Chinese badminton player. He is a gold medallist in the men's singles at the 2022 Asian Games and won 1 All England title. Kunlavut Vitidsarn (; simply known as View (); born 11 May 2001) is a Thai badminton player who became the first Thai to become No.1 in men's singles. He is the current World and Asia men's singles champions as he won the gold medals at the 2023 World Championships and 2025 Asian Championships, as well a silver medalist in the 2024 Olympic Games. He was also three-times World Junior champion, winning in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
