2024–25 Tweede Divisie
The 2024–25 Tweede Divisie season is the ninth edition of the Dutch third tier since ending its hiatus since the 1970–71 season and the 24th edition using the Tweede Divisie name. On 2 October 2017, representatives of amateur and professional football reached an agreement during the extraordinary general meeting of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) regarding the path to renewal of the football pyramid. During the extraordinary general meeting of 7 June 2018, an agreement was reached on the number of allowed reserve teams (belofteteams) in each division. For the Tweede Divisie, there are two. It was also decided that only two reserve teams would compete in the Tweede Divisie, with the remaining reserve teams participating in the new Under 21 Eredivisie. This is accompanied by its own relegation system. Tweede Divisie
Tweede Divisie (; ) is the highest amateur (and historically the lowest professional) football league in the Netherlands. It was established in 1956, together with the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie. Between 1956 and 1960 and between 1962 and 1966, the league consisted of two divisions, Tweede Divisie A and Tweede Divisie B. The league was disbanded in 1971. Six clubs were promoted to the Eerste Divisie (AVV De Volewijckers, De Volewijckers, FC Eindhoven, VVV-Venlo, FC VVV, Fortuna Vlaardingen, PEC Zwolle, PEC and Roda JC Kerkrade, Roda JC), while the other eleven teams became amateur clubs. Plans for a new, amateur Tweede Divisie, to be made up of 4 reserve teams and 14 Derde Divisie, Topklasse clubs, were approved in a Royal Dutch Football Association, KNVB assembly in December 2014. RKAV Volendam
Rooms Katholieke Amateur Voetbalvereniging (Dutch: Roman Catholic Amateur Football Club), abbreviated as RKAV Volendam, is a Dutch football team. Voetbal Vereniging Katwijk () is a Dutch association football club based in the town of Katwijk. Founded in 1939, the team competes in the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of the Dutch football league system. Katwijk plays its home games at Sportpark De Krom, which has a capacity of 6,000. Excelsior Maassluis is a football club from Maassluis, Netherlands, founded in 1918. The club's home ground is the 5,000 capacity arena known as Sportpark Dijkpolder. History Excelsior won the Hoofdklasse of 2013 and became champions of the Topklasse just two years later. Also known as the Tricolores, Excelsior due to their 2016 title win, was promoted to the Tweede Divisie. De Treffers is an amateur football club from Groesbeek, Netherlands. The club plays in the Tweede Divisie, the highest amateur league of Dutch football. Hardenberg Heemse Combinatie, commonly known as HHC Hardenberg, is a football club based in Hardenberg, Netherlands.
