2024–25 New York Rangers Season
The 2024–25 New York Rangers season was the franchise's List of New York Rangers seasons, 98th season of play and their 99th overall season. The Rangers entered the season as defending Presidents' Trophy winners. Despite a 12–4–1 start to the season, the Rangers followed that a 4–15–0 stretch witch at one point they were 8th in the Metropolitan Division. They had a slight turn around in January, going 8–3–3, but a 5–4–0 stretch in February and a 6–6–3 stretch in March provided more trouble for the Rangers going into the playoff push in the tight Eastern Conference race. Metropolitan Division
The National Hockey League's Metropolitan Division (often referred to simply as the "Metro Division") was formed in 2013 as one of the two divisions in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference as part of a league realignment. It is also a successor of the original Atlantic Division (NHL, 1993–2013), Atlantic Division and one of the two successors to the Southeast Division (NHL), Southeast Division. Six of its teams were previously together in the Patrick Division from 1981 to 1993 (one joined in 1982). Louis Boileau-Domingue (born March 6, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Domingue was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the fifth round, 138th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, with whom he spent the first portion of his career. He has also played in the NHL for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Vancouver Canucks, New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Calvin De Haan
Calvin de Haan (born May 9, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected 12th overall by the New York Islanders at the 2009 NHL entry draft. Early life de Haan was born and raised in Carp, Ontario with his younger brother Evan and parents Bill and Kathy. Jimmy Vesey
James Michael Vesey (born May 26, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey left winger for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Nashville Predators in the third round, 66th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Vesey attended Harvard and won the Hobey Baker Award in 2016. Zachary Jones (born October 18, 2000) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Kaapo Ville Olavi Kakko (; born 13 February 2001) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). Kakko was selected second overall by the New York Rangers in the 2019 NHL entry draft, and played the first five and a half years of his NHL career with them. Barclay Goodrow (born February 26, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward and Captain (ice hockey)#Alternate captains, alternate captain for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2014–15 Boston Bruins season was their 91st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. Despite earning 96 points, the Bruins did not qualify for the 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs, ending their seven-season playoff streak. At the time, this was the most points ever by a team who did not qualify, surpassing the 95 points earned by the 2006–07 Colorado Avalanche and the 2010–11 Dallas Stars. The 2007–08 Buffalo Sabres season was the 38th season of operation, 37th season of play, for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on May 22, 1970. Prior to the season, the Sabres lost their co-captains of the previous two seasons, Daniel Briere and Chris Drury. Briere and Drury were signed as free agents on July 1 by the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers, respectively. The 1992–93 New York Rangers season was the franchise's 67th season. The Rangers, coming off a Presidents' Trophy-winning 1991–92 season, finished with a 34–39–11 record in the regular season. The team finished last in the Patrick Division and missed the playoffs. Roger Neilson entered his fourth season as Rangers head coach, but was fired midway through the season, in January 1993, and replaced by Ron Smith. Regular season On December 15, 1992, the Rangers were shut-out at home 3–0 by the Calgary Flames. It was the first time the Rangers had been shut out in a regular season game since December 17, 1989, when they lost at home 2–0 to the Montreal Canadiens. Prior to their loss to the Flames, the Rangers had gone 236 consecutive regular-season games without being shutout. The 2024–25 Carolina Hurricanes season was the 46th season (45th season of play) for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established in June 1979, and the 27th season since the franchise relocated from the Hartford Whalers to start the 1997–98 season. On April 2, 2025, the Hurricanes clinched their seventh consecutive playoff spot after they won in regulation against the Washington Capitals.
