2024–25 East Asia Super League
The 2024–25 East Asia Super League was the second regular season of the East Asia Super League, an international basketball club competition involving teams from Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, South Korea, Philippines and Taiwan. The season began on 2 October 2024 and ended 9 March 2025. The Final Four was held in Macau. The Hiroshima Dragonflies won their inaugural title, after defeating the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots in the final. Teams Allocation The 2024–25 East Asia Super League has ten teams, two more compared the last season. Like the last season, the finalist of the Taiwan's (Chinese Taipei) P. League+, Japan's B.League and South Korea's Korean Basketball League qualified and took part for the 2024–25 season alongside two teams from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The East Asia Super League (EASL) is an international basketball league featuring clubs from Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei), Hong Kong, and Macau. From 2017 to 2019, four pre-season tournaments (the Super 8 and the Terrific 12) were organized by EASL, featuring clubs from selected professional basketball leagues in the region. With official backing from FIBA Asia, EASL has made a transition towards a full-fledged league. The first such season commenced in 2023 and feature eight teams. Sani Sakakini (; born August 19, 1988) is a Palestinian professional basketball player for the New Taipei Kings of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL). In 2017, he ranked second all-time highest in the FIBA Asia Championship in scoring average, after the 2015 edition where he ranked first in scoring and rebounds (22.4 PPG and 12.6 RPG in 8 games). The Macau Black Bears () are a Macanese professional basketball team. History Chong Son Kung Fu was a Chinese basketball team playing in the ASEAN Basketball League. The team was baed in Nanhai District, Foshan, Guangdong and played their home games at the 4,000-seated Nanhai Gymnasium. They joined the ABL from 2017–18 season as "Nanhai Long Lions", the affiliate team of Guangzhou Loong Lions. Hong Kong A1 Division Championship (), abbreviated as HKA1 and A1 Division, is the top division of men's basketball league in Hong Kong. The league was founded in 1954 and the inaugural season was held the same year. Currently, ten teams make up the league. South China is the most successful team in league history with 16 titles.
