2023–24 KBL Season
The 2023–24 KBL season is the 28th season of the Korean Basketball League (KBL), the highest level of basketball in South Korea. The regular season began on 21 October 2023. The Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters were the defending champions, having won their fourth KBL title after defeating the Seoul SK Knights in the 2023 finals, but were eliminated in the semi-finals. The Busan KCC Egis won their sixth championship after defeating Suwon KT Sonicboom in the finals, becoming the first fifth-seeded team to win the championship. The Busan KCC Egis qualified for the 2024 Basketball Champions League Asia and both the champions and runners-up qualified for the 2024–25 East Asia Super League. Korean Basketball League
The Korean Basketball League () or simply KBL is a professional men's basketball league in South Korea which was established in 1997. The league consists of ten teams and each team plays a total of 54 games (27 home and 27 away) in the regular season. History The Korean Basketball League was established in 1997. Prior to the professional era, domestic basketball was an amateur sport and all teams, whether sponsored by a corporate company or a university, participated in the National Basketball Festival (), a competition sanctioned by the Korea Basketball Association. Ulsan
Ulsan (; ), officially the Ulsan Metropolitan City, is South Korea's seventh-largest metropolitan city and the eighth-largest city overall, with a population of over 1.1 million inhabitants. Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus
The Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus is a professional basketball club in the Korean Basketball League. History Foundation and amateur era Before the professional Korean Basketball League was established in 1997, domestic basketball was an amateur sport and teams were sponsored by corporate companies or private universities. Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus traces its origins to the basketball team sponsored by Kia Motors in 1986. The team was based in Busan where Kia Motors had manufacturing operations. During the amateur era, all teams competed in the National Basketball Festival (농구대잔치). Suwon (; ) is the largest city and capital of Gyeonggi Province, South Korea's most populous province. The city lies approximately south of the national capital, Seoul. Jamsil Students' Gymnasium
Jamsil Students' Gymnasium () is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in Seoul, South Korea. The capacity of the arena is 7,500 and was built from November 1972 to December 1976 to host Boxing at the 1988 Summer Olympics, Boxing events at the 1986 Asian Games and 2-years later the same sport on the 1988 Summer Olympics, and wheelchair basketball events at the 1988 Summer Paralympics. Jamsil Arena (), a.k.a. Jamsil Indoor Stadium, is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena. It is part of Seoul Sports Complex, located in Seoul, South Korea. Seoul Samsung Thunders () is a professional basketball team, competing in the Korean Basketball League. Ever since the club was founded in 1978, they have been associated with Samsung Electronics. Goyang
Goyang (; ) is a city in Gyeonggi Province in the north of South Korea. It is part of the Seoul Metropolitan Area, making Goyang one of Seoul's Satellite city, satellite cities.
