2023–24 Millwall F.C. Season
The 2023–24 season was the 139th season in the history of Millwall F.C., Millwall Football Club, their seventh consecutive season in the EFL Championship, Championship, 97th consecutive season in the English Football League, Football League, and 47th in the second tier. The club played in the 2023–24 FA Cup, FA Cup, and the 2023–24 EFL Cup, EFL Cup. In preseason, Millwall announced the death of owner and chairman John Berylson, who passed away in an accident on 4 July. He was succeeded as chairman by his son; James Berylson. On 18th October 2023, the club announced it had mutually agreed to part company with first team manager Gary Rowett. Assistant manager Adam Barrett took over as interim manager for four games, before England national under-20 football team, England under-20s manager Joe Edwards (football manager), Joe Edwards was installed as their new Head Coach on 6 November 2023. Millwall is a district on the western and southern side of the Isle of Dogs, in east London, England, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It lies to the immediate south of Canary Wharf and Poplar, north of Greenwich and Deptford, east of Rotherhithe, west of Cubitt Town, and has a long shoreline along London's Tideway, part of the River Thames. It was part of the County of Middlesex and from 1889, following the passing of the Local Government Act 1888, the County of London; it later became part of Greater London in 1965. Millwall had a population of 23,084 in 2011 and includes Island Gardens, The Quarterdeck and The Space.
