2023–24 Millwall F.C. Season
The 2023–24 season was the 139th season in the history of Millwall F.C., Millwall Football Club, their seventh consecutive season in the EFL Championship, Championship, 97th consecutive season in the English Football League, Football League, and 47th in the second tier. The club played in the 2023–24 FA Cup, FA Cup, and the 2023–24 EFL Cup, EFL Cup. In preseason, Millwall announced the death of owner and chairman John Berylson, who passed away in an accident on 4 July. He was succeeded as chairman by his son; James Berylson. On 18th October 2023, the club announced it had mutually agreed to part company with first team manager Gary Rowett. Millwall F
Millwall is a district on the western and southern side of the Isle of Dogs, in east London, England, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It lies to the immediate south of Canary Wharf and Poplar, north of Greenwich and Deptford, east of Rotherhithe, west of Cubitt Town, and has a long shoreline along London's Tideway, part of the River Thames. Grimsby
Grimsby or Great Grimsby is a port town in Lincolnshire, England with a population of 86,138 (as of 2021). It is located near the mouth on the south bank of the Humber that flows to the North Sea. Grimsby adjoins the town of Cleethorpes directly to the south-east forming a conurbation. The 1952–53 season was the 73rd season of competitive football in England. Overview This was the closest championship win in English league history at the time, with Arsenal claiming the title with a goal average superior to Preston's by just 0.099. Both Arsenal and Preston had identical records aside from their goal averages. Had goal difference been the deciding factor as it was from 1977 onwards, Arsenal would still have won with +33 to Preston's +25, unlike in 1989 when they would have finished second on goal average. Ron Gray (footballer)
Ron Gray (25 June 1920 – 11 October 2002) is a former association football player, manager and scout. Born in North Shields, wing half Gray started his professional year in 1938 with Sheffield United, later moving to Lincoln City, Notts County and finally Watford, before retiring at the age of 26 due to injury. He started his managerial career at Watford, but his tenure was not particularly successful. The club recorded their lowest ever football league finish, having to apply for re-election to the Football League in 1950–51. His next managerial role was at Millwall. After his first spell as manager, Gray stayed at the club as assistant manager to Reg Smith. Gray was re-appointed as manager after Smith was sacked, and led the club to promotion as Fourth Division champions in 1961–62.
