2023–24 Czech National Football League
The 2023–24 Czech National Football League (known as the ''Fortuna národní liga'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 31st season of the Czech Republic's second tier football league. The season started on 21 July 2023. The season format was unchanged from the previous season, with each team playing in the league format home and away matches. The top-ranked team was promoted to the Czech First League, the two teams positioned 2nd and 3rd played a play-out with two teams from the first league positioned 14th and 15th in a home and away format. The two lowest-ranked teams were relegated directly to the third tier. Czech National Football League
The Czech National Football League (, ''FNL''), known as Chance Národní Liga due to sponsorship reasons, is the second level professional association football league in the Czech Republic. Before 2013 it was known as 2. liga or Druhá liga. The top team each season is eligible for promotion to the Czech First League, while the second and third placed teams enter play offs for possible promotion. The league replaced the I.ČNL (I. Česká národní liga; First Czech National League), which had been established following the end of the nationwide Czechoslovak Second League in 1977. The league became known as simply ''II. liga'' (Second League) in 1993 following the establishment of the Czech Republic as an independent state. Structure There are 16 clubs in the FNL. MFK Karviná is a professional football club located in Karviná, Czech Republic. It plays in the Czech First League. The team's colours are green and white. History Karviná as a multi-ethnic city of Cieszyn Silesia was a home to many football clubs, which were established by particular ethnic groups after World War I. Drnovice (Vyškov District)
Drnovice (; ) is a municipality and village in Vyškov District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,400 inhabitants. Etymology The name is derived from the personal name Drn, meaning "the village of Drn's people". Geography Drnovice is located about west of Vyškov and east of Brno. Sportovní Areál Drnovice
Sportovní areál Drnovice is a football stadium in Drnovice, in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. The game hosted two friendly matches of the Czech Republic national football team. History The stadium opened in 1955. It was used in the Czech First League between 1993 and 2002, and again in the 2004–05 season. It hosted UEFA Cup matches in the 2000–01 season, including against TSV 1860 Munich. The stadium hosted Drnovice's matches in the second tier for the last time in the 2005–06 season. The stadium was sold by auction in March 2016. MFK Vyškov of the second-tier Czech National Football League started using Sportovní areál Drnovice for their league matches from the start of the 2021–22 season. MFK Vyškov
MFK Vyškov is a Czech football club located in the town of Vyškov in the South Moravian Region. From 2021 to 2025, it played in the Czech National Football League, the second level of Czech football. Because the club does not have a stadium that would allow it to play professional league matches, it has decided to play only in lower amateur tiers from 2025. FC Silon Táborsko
FC Silon Táborsko is a football club located in Tábor, Czech Republic. It plays in the Czech National Football League (2nd tier). History The club was formerly located at Soukenik stadium in nearby Sezimovo Ústí. Lower squads of the team, as well the youth teams still play their games there. SFC Opava
Slezský FC Opava is a professional football club based in Opava, Czech Republic. The club plays in the Czech National Football League, the second of Czech football after being relegated from the Czech First League at the end of the 2020–21 season. History The club was in the Czech First League at the top tier of Czech football from 1995 to 2000, getting relegated in 2000 but returning to the top flight the following season in 2001. 2022–23 Czech First League
The 2022–23 Czech First League, known as the FORTUNA:LIGA for sponsorship reason, is the 30th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football for professional clubs since its 1993 establishment. FC Viktoria Plzeň are the reigning champions. The season started on 30 July 2022. The first half of the season will have 16 rounds, finishing on 13 November 2022 because of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and the other half will commence on 28 January 2023. Sportovní klub Slavia Praha B, commonly known as Slavia Prague B, is the reserve team of Czech First League club SK Slavia Prague. The team currently play in the Czech National Football League.
