2023–24 Cypriot Second Division
The 2023–24 Cypriot Second Division was the 69th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. It began on 15 September 2023. Teams The league consisted of sixteen teams; ten teams remaining from the previous season, three teams promoted from the Cypriot Third Division, and three teams relegated from the Cypriot First Division. The three teams promoted from the Third Division were ASIL Lysi, Digenis Akritas Morphou, ENAD Polis Chrysochous (replacing the three relegated Second Division teams of Anagennisi Deryneia and Olympias Lympion, and withdrawn team of Alki Oroklini). The three teams relegated from the First Division were Akritas Chlorakas, Enosis Neon Paralimni, and Olympiakos Nicosia (replacing the three promoted Second Division teams of AEZ Zakakiou, Ethnikos Achna, and Othellos Athienou). Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division () is the second highest association football, football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administered by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top three teams being Promotion and relegation, promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams being Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. History The Cypriot Second Division started unofficially the 1934–35 football season as the second level of the Cypriot football (Cyprus Football Association founded in 1934). The competition consisted of teams that didn't participate in Cypriot First Division and the reserve teams of the Cypriot First Division clubs. Akritas Chlorakas
Akritas Chlorakas () is a Cypriot football club based in Chloraka, Paphos. The club was founded in 1971 and currently plays in the Cypriot Second Division. Akritas' colours are green and white, and they play their home games at the Chloraka Municipal Stadium. The club is owned by Lithuanian investor Liutauras Varanavičius. History Founded in 1971, Akritas Chlorakas joined the Cyprus Football Association in 1973, competing in the Cypriot Third Division. Polis, Cyprus
Polis (or Polis Chrysochous; or Πόλις Χρυσοχούς, ) is a town at the north-west end of the island of Cyprus, at the centre of Chrysochous Bay, and on the edge of the Akamas peninsula nature reserve. Morphou
Morphou (; ) is a town in the northwestern part of Cyprus, under the '' de facto'' control of Northern Cyprus. Having been a predominantly Greek Cypriot community before the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, the town is now inhabited by Turkish Cypriots. Othellos Athienou () is a Cypriot football club based in Athienou, Larnaca and competes in the Cypriot first Division. The football department is the only activity of the club at the moment, which participated for the second time in the Cypriot First Division, the top football level division in Cyprus after 8 years from the first season in top flight.
