2023–24 Central Arkansas Bears Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Central Arkansas Bears basketball team represented the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bears, led by fourth-year head coach Anthony Boone, played their home games at the on-campus Farris Center located in Conway, Arkansas as members of the ASUN Conference. They finished the season 9–23, 5–11 in ASUN play to finish in 11th place. They failed to qualify for the ASUN tournament. Previous season The Bears finished the 2022–23 season 9–22, 4–14 in ASUN play to finish in thirteenth place. They failed to qualify for the ASUN tournament. Anthony Boone (basketball)
Anthony Lynn Boone (born June 14, 1976) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Hendrix Warriors men's basketball team. He was previously the head coach of the Central Arkansas Bears men's basketball team from 2019 to 2024. Playing career Boone played college basketball at Ole Miss, where he was a 1995 SEC All-Rookie selection. His career was hampered by injuries, but during his senior season he was nominated for the Chip Hilton Player of the Year Award, and was inducted into the Ole Miss Hall of Fame as well as having his number 41 jersey retired. At the time, Boone's jersey joined Archie Manning as the only two jerseys retired in Ole Miss history. Coaching career After graduation, Boone stayed on with Ole Miss under Rod Barnes as a graduate assistant before moving on to Murray State as an assistant coach under Tevester Anderson for three seasons. First National Bank Arena has three separate public venues including a 217-seat Auditorium, a banquet/meeting room that can be divided into 3 smaller meeting rooms, and the main arena, which has permanent seating for 10,475. The 2023–24 Arkansas State Red Wolves men's basketball team represented Arkansas State University in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Red Wolves, led by first-year head coach Bryan Hodgson, played their home games at the First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro, Arkansas as members of the Sun Belt Conference. On March 16, 2023, the school fired head coach Mike Balado. On March 22, the school named Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson the team's new head coach. Previous season The Red Wolves finished the 2022–23 season 13–20, 4–14 in Sun Belt play to finish in 13th place. Cabot, Arkansas
Cabot is the largest city in Lonoke County, Arkansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 23,776, and in 2019 the population was an estimated 26,352, ranking it as the state's 19th largest city, behind Jacksonville.
