2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup (Singapore)
The 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup was the 33rd edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. The tournament was hosted in the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. It was the first time Singapore hosted the tournament, as well as the first time the tournament is being held in Asia. It was the second Intercontinental Cup in the same calendar year, as the tournament cycle was changed to September to better adapt to the club's schedules. It was also the first tournament under an expanded format with six teams, with two teams from Asia being added. Franca Basquetebol Clube, Franca won its first title after beating Telekom Baskets Bonn in the final. Lucas Dias Silva, commonly known as either Lucas Dias, or simply as Lucas (born July 6, 1995) is a Brazilian professional basketball player for Franca of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Professional career Dias was named Jordan Brand Classic International MVP in 2012. On April 21, 2015, it was announced that he would enter the 2015 NBA draft. The Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia), formerly the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, is an annual continental club men's basketball competition organised by FIBA Asia. It is the highest level club competition for basketball in Asia.
