2022–23 Egyptian Second Division
The 2022–23 Egyptian Second Division was the 43rd and last edition of the Egyptian Second Division, the top Egyptian semi-professional level for Association football, football clubs, since its establishment in 1977. The season started on 11 October 2022, and concluded on 9 July 2023. Fixtures for the 2022–23 season were announced on 2 October 2022. In 2021, the Egyptian Football Association announced that the 2022–23 season would be the last edition of the competition, and that it would be replaced by two leagues called Second Division A (professional league, second tier) and Second Division B (semi-professional league, third tier) starting from the 2023–24 season. El Gouna FC, El Gouna, ZED FC, ZED and Baladiyat El Mahalla SC, Baladiyat El Mahalla won Group A, B and C, respectively and secured promotion to the 2023–24 Egyptian Premier League. El Gouna Football Club () is an Egyptian football club based in the city of El Gouna, Egypt. The club currently plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the highest league in the Egyptian football league system. It was administered by the Egyptian Football Association. It was below the top professional league in the country, the Egyptian Premier League, and above the regional league Egyptian Third Division. The league was reformed in 1977, and consisted of multiple groups covering different parts of Egypt, with the winner of each group either gaining automatic promotion to the Egyptian Premier League, or earning a place in the promotion play-offs, depending on the number of groups. The 2021–22 Egyptian Premier League, also known as The WE Egyptian Premier League for sponsorship purposes, was the 63rd season of the Egyptian Premier League, the top Egyptian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1948. The season started on 25 October 2021 and is concluded on 30 August 2022. Fixtures for the 2021–22 season were announced on 12 October 2021. Zamalek are the defending champions, having won their 13th league title in the previous season. The Egyptian Second Division B () is the third tier of the Egyptian football league system starting from the 2023–24 season. It replaces the Egyptian Third Division on the pyramid.
